Bodi Hawkes is a foster child who keeps having blackouts. The blackouts that Bodi keeps having aren't your everyday blackouts and every time he wakes up from them he finds himself somewhere else, blocks away from where the blackout began. The time he blacks out is full of what he can only call dreams and he has no idea why this keeps happening to him.

Most of the foster families he has been placed with haven't been able to cope with his 'disappearances' and he has been moved to a new family. This time he is in luck and the family he has been placed with is different. Maybe this time things will be better for him.

Then he finds out what happens to him when the blackouts occur. He is actually changing into alternate superhuman versions of himself from four different dimensions. This is not only scary but very cool and his new friend Phoenix Mack helps him find a professor who maybe able to help him make sense of what is happening to him.

The Perils of Quad is a fascinating Young Adult novel that grabbed me from the very start. Sci-fi isn't really my thing and I did find some of this story to be a little confusing but all in all this was a very exciting read. I liked the characters and the storyline was new and unusual. This had the feel of a Scott Westerfeld book and made me think of his Midnighters and Uglies series.

This week on Amberkatze's Book Blog my guest is author Rachel Vincent. Her shifter series is one of my favourite reads and the fourth book in the series, Prey, is due out next week. I was lucky enough to win a copy so you can read my review if you want to know more. However if you are already a reader of the series you won't need a review to entice you to buy the newest book in the series.

Rachel also has a new Young Adult series coming out this year so make sure to keep your eyes open for that. Until then you can see what Rachel has to say in the interview and then enter the contest at the end to win a book of your choice!

--------------------------

Amber - Welcome to Amberkatze's Book Blog! I love your books so I am really happy you are here! I know a lot of my blog readers know your Shifters series but I am sure there are a few who haven't. Maybe you can start things off by telling us about the series so far?

Rachel – Hi Amber, and thanks! It’s great to be here!

My Shifters series is set in a closed world, which means humans don’t know they’re not the only things out there. But there are no vampires, witches, demons, or any of the other kinds of mythical creatures typically found in urban fantasy. There are just humans and Shifters, dealing with both real life issues and some really tense political turmoil. (Shifters politics, of course.) And I should probably say that there are no werewolves in my world either. They were hunted to extinction way before the series starts, because they couldn’t stop howling at everything that moved. ;-)

The series is about a 23 yr. old female werecat named Faythe Sanders and her efforts to carve out a life for herself, and for her fellow tabbycats. Because tabbies are rare, they usually have few choices beyond marrying an Alpha and giving birth to the next generation of werecats. But Faythe wants more than that. She starts out kind of indulged, because of the way she was raised, but then matures over the course of the series and learns some pretty tough lessons. And by the third book, Pride, she’s a force to be reckoned with. I’ve loved watching her grow, and take on more and more responsibility for her Pride, and those it protects.

Amber - How was the idea for the series born? Was it a long process or something that just came to you?

Rachel – Well, I knew I wanted to write urban fantasy, and that I didn’t want to do vampires, witches, or werewolves. I wanted to do something I hadn’t seen much of. And I love cats, so werecats seemed a natural choice. The overarching story line developed from the world-building, and it’s all been building toward civil war since Rogue, the second book.

Amber - How much and what kind of research did you have to for the books? Spend a lot of time with cats?

Rachel – Well, I spend a lot of time with my cats anyway. ;-) But yes, I studied large cat biology and lion social structure, then reversed the social structure for my own Pride cats. Instead of having lots of females and one male per group, the werecat Prides each have lots of men and only one female (of childbearing age). That particular social structure comes with a ton of conflict built in.

I also studied the way large cats move, both at the zoo and on nature programs on television. I’ve taken liberties, of course, most notably with the fact that my werecats have vertical pupils, while real life large cats don’t. But you have to know how things really work, in able to change them to suit your purposes. ;-)

Amber - The fourth book in the series is due out in July. How far do you want it to keep going? Do you have an ending all thought out?

Rachel – Faythe’s story ends in book six: Alpha. That’s the only one in the series I haven’t written yet, and I’m really nervous about starting it. Everything’s been building toward this one, and I hope I can do it justice. ;-)

Amber - You have a new YA series coming out soon. Can you tell us a little about that?

Rachel – Yes, of course! My Soul to Take (August 1) is the first in my Soul Screamers series, and my young adult debut. It’s about a high school junior named Kaylee Cavanaugh who thinks she’s losing her mind because she gets panic attacks—in the form of uncontrollable screaming fits—when she thinks someone near her is going to die. But it turns out that she’s not crazy, and people are dying. She’s actually a bean sidhe (banshee), who becomes determined to stop a series of unexplained deaths in her school.

This series is my take on the old Irish bean sidhe legends, and I’ve tried to really make them my own. I’ve added to the lore, and explained my theory on what all that screaming is really about. I can’t wait to show off Kaylee and her world!

Amber - Are there any other projects you are working on? Or are you busy enough? :)

Rachel – Right now, I’m pretty busy. But I try to keep an idea or two on the back burner, for when I (eventually) get a pause in the action.

Amber - How did you end up being a writer? Was it something you always wanted to do?

Rachel – Yes, I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. But I never even thought about writing for a living until a few years ago. I haven’t looked back since. ;-)

Amber - What did you do before you became an author? Would you ever give up writing and go back to working in a 'normal' job?

Rachel – Well, in high school I worked at fast food restaurants. In college, I waited tables, worked in retail (selling first clothes, then jewelry), and tutored college level math and English. After college, I taught ninth grade English for a short while. But writing is really where I belong. I’d never give it up willingly.

Amber - What books do you like to read when you have time? Do you have any must read authors/series?

Rachel – I read both adult and YA, but mostly urban fantasy in both cases. I love Kim Harrison, Patricia Briggs, Jeaniene Frost, and most people know I’m a huge Stephen King fan. In YA, I love Scott Westerfeld, Melissa Marr, Simon Holt, Laurie Halse Anderson, and I loved Carrie Ryan’s debut.

Amber - What TV series/films have you been watching recently? Does any of the shows/films you watch influence your writing?

Rachel – I’ve recently discovered several HBO series, and I’ve been devouring the DVDs on my rare days off. Big Love, True Blood, and Carnivale. I also DVR Lost, Heroes, and Dollhouse. But I’ve been so busy lately that it takes me a while to get caught up, watching one a day on my lunch break, while I answer email. ;-)

As for things I watch influencing my writing…. Well, not plotlines or characters. But the effects, makeup, and rich cinematic style of movies like Pan’s Labyrinth and Hell Boy 2 put me in the mood to write my Soul Screamers series. The Netherworld (an element of Kaylee’s world) is very eerie and creepy, like parts of those movies.

Amber - If your Werecat series was going to be adapted for TV/Film who could you imagine playing the main roles?

Rachel – I think Megan Fox would be good as Faythe. But I haven’t had much luck dream-casting most of the guys. No one seems quite good enough to be Marc, Jace, or Ethan. ;-)

Amber - Lots of authors have playlists for their books. What music or bands would find their place on a playlist for the Werecat series? and the new YA series?

Rachel – For the Shifters books, I picture a lot of Disturbed, for the fractured politics, and some Drowning Pool. A little NIN. For the Soul Screamers, it would have to be a little softer, but creepy. Marilyn Manson. Massive Attack. Stuff like that.

Amber - If you could be any paranormal creature what would you be and why?

Rachel – I’d want to be something that could read minds. But that seems pretty self-indulgent and self-destructive, so I’m sure I’d be the means to my own end. What can I say? Who wants to live forever?

Amber - You are stranded on a desert island. What 5 things do you hope to have with you?

Rachel – Matches. Books. A machete. A hammer. And #1, for company, and heavy labor. ;-)

Amber - Thank you so much for being my guest on Amberkatze's Book Blog. I hope you will pop by again sometime!

Rachel - Thanks, Amber!

Megan Berry had a normal life until her power to settle the Undead returned. Then her best friend tried to kill her and totally ruined Homecoming by using black magic to raise zombies. However things aren't all that bad. Megan did manage to get a place on the pom squad and a gorgeous boyfriend. So every cloud, or in this case zombie attack, does have a silver lining.

So normal isn't exactly how Megan would describe her life anymore and things are just about to get even weirder. Super-strong zombies, an Undead hottie who won't Settle and a cheerleader vs. Pom squad war are just a few of the problems Megan is facing. Throw in some family secrets that could see Megan going to Settler prison for life and this sixteen-year-old has more worries than any normal teenager should have.

Undead Much? is the zombie filled sequel to You Are So Undead to Me. When I read the first book in this series I was totally sucked into the concept of a 'Zombie Settler' and what they did. This time around I got totally grabbed by the continuation and expansion of such a great unique idea.

Just as fun as the first book, Undead Much? sees Megan growing into her Settler abilities as well as finding out more about herself. The normality of being a teenager and dealing with all those feelings isn't lost on Megan but it is hard for her to find time to deal with them when zombies are trying to kill you. However I am sure that alot of Young Adult readers will be able to connect with Megan, Zombies or not.

This series has got some really likable characters. Megan and Ethan are two people I would love to be friends with and the new edition Cliff is definitely someone I want to hear from again. I am actually starting to like Monica a bit more and I hope she continues to grow into bigger character.

The story this time around was well thought out and kept me guessing till the end and kept to the fresh and unique taste it had last time. This series really is a great edition to the Young Adult Paranormal genre and is on par with Mari Mancusi and Heather Brewer. This is a series I am adding to my must read list.

Undead Much? isn't due out till January 2010 but until then make sure you catch up with and get to know Megan in You Are So Undead To Me. Also get to know the author and series by reading the Amberkatze's Book Blog interview with Stacey Jay. A huge thanks to Razorbill for letting me read this! I can't wait for book #3!

Yesterday I posted the Shane & Ciara interview for you all to enjoy and author Jeri Smith-Ready came by to share some news! Here it is incase you missed it -

Hi everyone! Shane & Ciara will be by a bit later to answer most of the comments, but for the moment you'll have to settle for me. ;-)

In addition to telling us about your pet (or instead of, if you don't have a pet), feel free to suggest a name for Shane's 90s cover band. If I find one he likes, it might appear in Book 3, which is now officially titled...you heard it here first...because I just found out yesterday...

BRING ON THE NIGHT

which Police fans will recognize as one of their tunes. I'm very psyched I got to keep this title, as it's perfect for the book.

I still don't have an official release date, just that it'll be 2010 and NOT in May like the first two, because that's when my first YA novel, SHADE will be released.

So feel free to suggest names for Shane's band! I am already enjoying your pet stories but I can't wait to see what creative band names you can all think up!

After leaving New York, Katie Chandler went back home to Texas where things are on the less magical side. This doesn't mean that things are boring. Working in the family store and making sure her family function nicely isn't easy work. Although that doesn't mean Katie never thinks of New York or a certain special person. After all she only came back to Texas so she and Owen would be safe from anymore magical problems.

Then Katie's mother starts seeing things. All the family think she is ill but Katie knows her mother is, like herself, immune to magic. So Katie starts looking for things that could prove that something magical is going on. Otherwise it could be that her mother really is ill and that is certainly worse than magic coming to her little town in Texas.

The fourth book in the Katie Chandler series was another delightful read. Magical and romantic this is a fun chick-lit spell filled read. Unfortunately this seems to be the last book in the series. Even though the author has book #5 half written the sales for book 3 & 4 weren't good enough for the publishers. To say this is a shame is an understatement. Even though this book ended on a good note and left no huge cliffhangers I would still love to see what happens to Katie next. This series has so many possibilities and I was really hoping that when I went to Amazon that I would find book number five ready for me to order.

If you haven't already tried this series I seriously suggest giving it a go. The books are fun and original and the characters are special. Very enchanting and unique I hope the author will try something else paranormal someday.

Today on Amberkatze's Book Blog I have a couple of special guests who were kind enough to take some time out of their busy schedule to answer a few questions. Ciara and Shane are the stars of author Jeri Smith-Ready's books Wicked Game & Bad to the Bone.

To find out more about Jeri and her books go follow her on Twitter!

Some of you may already be familiar with Jeri's books and/or Ciara and Shane but I am sure some of you out there haven't had the pleasure yet! So enjoy the interview, feel free to leave questions for the guests and make sure you enter the contest to win a great package of prizes!

...............................

Amber - Welcome to Amberkatze's Book Blog Ciara & Shane! I think most of my readers already know both of you. Of course Shane is a DJ on WVMP radio and Ciara, you are the brains behind the station?

Ciara: Well, not all the brains.
Shane: Just the brains that are out of the box.
Ciara: That’s kind of gross.
Shane: I meant well.

Amber - So the whole advertisement ploy for the station is that all the DJ's are actually vampires. So lets get the obvious question out of the way already. Shane are you really a vampire? Are any of the DJ's vampires?

Shane: You mean really really? (looks at Ciara, who nods) Sure. I’m really a vampire. All of the DJs are. Wink wink, nudge nudge, right?
Ciara: Ha ha.

Amber - While you both have a working relationship I know you are also a couple outside of work. How long have you guys been together? Is it hard working together and having a relationship?

Ciara: It’s been what, a couple years?
Shane: Two years and twenty-five days.
Ciara: Wait, what do you consider our anniversary?
Shane: The first time we kissed.
Ciara: You bit me, then I hit you and threw you out of my apartment. That doesn’t count.
Shane: The second kiss? That would be two years and twenty-four days. Third kiss, two years and twenty days.
Ciara: No no no. Let’s go with the Fourth of July.
Shane: Which had a total lack of kissing.
Ciara: And biting and hitting, so that’s a bonus.
Shane: Fine. One year, eleven months and twenty-two days.
Ciara: What was the other question?
Shane: If it was hard working together and having a relationship.
Ciara: No—we work completely different hours. I’m a 9-5 human and he’s a, well, a late-night DJ. Shane: But when the station has parties and events—
Ciara: Which we do a lot. WVMP is very community-focused.
Shane: —we hang out together at those.
Ciara: And keep our interactions very professional.
Shane: Yeah, you’d never even know we were a couple.
Ciara: (pauses) Unless you happened to see us in the alleyway between sets.
Shane: Or in the wine cellar at that one place.
Ciara: Two places.
Shane: Three, actually.
Ciara: It was five. (clears throat) So far.

Amber - About 18 months ago you were both in a bit of trouble. Something about a sect? Maybe you can tell my readers a little about that? Wasn't the story made into a book?

Ciara: Um...well, the fictionalized version—and I do mean fictionalized, because if we ever told the real story we’d be in huge trouble—can be found in Bad to the Bone, which just came out last month.
Shane: Yeah, what’s in the book is not what really happened. We had some problems with a certain group pirating our signal.
Ciara: But in the book it’s exaggerated.
Shane: Highly. Highly exaggerated. No one really tried to set us on fire.
Ciara: And we absolutely did not have sex in the studio while he was on the air.

Amber - Any more plans to write about your lives or the lives of the other WVMP vampires?

Ciara: There are at least two more books coming, but they take place in Spring 2010, so Jeri’s basically just making it all up and then I guess we have to live it, rather than the other way around.
Shane: It makes us nervous.
Ciara: Feels too much like predestination.
Shane: Totally bogus.

Amber - Ciara, I hear you recently got a pet. Was that planned? How does that work out with your schedule?

Ciara: Dexter is my—our—new dog. He was a stray, but a very happy accident. He looks scary, but he’s a complete love bug. Unless you’re a stalker, or a landlord.
Shane: He and I keep the same schedule, so I do most of the dog-walking. He’s nocturnal, like a cat. Except he’s a dog.
Ciara: Um, yeah. I have no idea why that is.

Amber - Shane always dedicates songs to you, Ciara. What I would really love to know is what song would you dedicate to him and why?

Ciara: I would send him “Valentine’s Day” by Steve Earle. He’s one of Shane’s favorite singers. The song is about someone who isn’t very sentimental and sometimes forgets things like holidays and, um, birthdays—sorry—and really sucks at talking about feelings, but…well, here are the lines. I can’t sing, so I’ll just say them:

I know that I swore that I wouldn't forget
I wrote it all down: I lost it I guess
There's so much I want to say
But all the words just slip away

The way you love me every day
Is Valentine's Day

Shane: Wow. That was...I’m...
Ciara: Speechless?
Shane: *nods*

Amber - Shane, you, or so the advertising ploy goes, are stuck in the 90's era of music. Who are your favourites from that era and what new bands/singers have you discovered and enjoy nowadays?

Shane: Well, Nirvana’s the obvious favorite. I also love R.E.M., Green Day, Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, and some lesser known bands like Bikini Kill, L7—all the riot grrrl bands, pretty much. I like a lot of punk, of course. When I’m in a more mellow mood I go for Matthew Sweet, Chris Isaak, Joe Jackson, Kate Bush, folks like that. And Steve Earle, like Ciara said. Oh, and Morphine when I feel like getting really low. And Dead Milkmen when things get silly.

You can hear some of my old favorites on my playlist at WVMPradio.com

As for new music, Ciara got me into Flogging Molly and The Killers and—
Ciara: And the Ting Tings.
Shane: You like the Ting Tings, not me. Too bouncy.
Ciara: I keep hoping you’ll forget. But you discovered some cool bands on your own, too.
Shane: Yes, I’m a big boy now. My recent favorites are Dead Confederate, Elbow, and Black Angels. I guess you’d call them psychedelic grunge. Or maybe I just made that term up. Anyway, they’re cool.

Amber - How are you planning on spending the the upcoming months? Any plans for the future?

Ciara: (crosses fingers) I plan to finally finish college after nine years. If Jeri has horrible things in store for me, they better be after next May, or I swear I’m going on strike.
Shane: Strike? How would that work?
Ciara: I wouldn’t show up for Book Four. You and Dexter could carry the story while I go to class.
Shane: I’m not doing love scenes with Dexter.

Amber - When you both have time to relax. What do you enjoy doing? Any hobbies? Favourite TV series/ Films?

Shane: I’m getting a band together, now that I can finally play that Gibson SG Ciara bought me. We’re looking for name suggestions, if anyone has ideas. It’s a cover band, mostly nineties, some eighties and classic rock thrown in. Just for fun, playing local bars and stuff for beer money.
Ciara: Hmm, hobbies. When I’m not studying or working my butt off for the station, I like to read. The more escapist, the better.
Shane: Ciara made me watch Buffy & Angel. They were awesome. Love the dialogue.
Ciara: But we don’t have HBO, so no True Blood.
Shane: We liked the Star Trek movie.
Ciara: Ooh, yeah. Dr. McCoy is my favorite. He reminds me of Franklin. And a little bit of Shane, when he’s had too much coffee, or not enough, you know. The other stuff.

Amber - You are both stranded on a desert island. What 5 things would you both hope to have with you?

Shane: Do we get ten things altogether? Maybe we should discuss it, plan it out and get back to you.
Ciara: I just need three: a boat, a map, and plenty of gas. Shane, you can have my extra two things.
Shane: Can I be on your boat?
Ciara: Of course.
Shane: Then make it six beers and a very dark tarp. So I don’t get, uh, skin cancer.

Amber - A huge thank you to both of you for taking the time to answer my questions. If you want to find out what Ciara and Shane are up to between books then you can follow them on Twitter!

Follow Ciara

Follow Shane

I will now open the floor to my readers! If you have any questions for Ciara or Shane feel free to ask away!

Detective Pete Caldecott is investigating the kidnapping of a young girl and getting nowhere. So when she gets instructions to meet an informant she goes along knowing she has nothing to lose. However what Pete finds is Jack Winter. A gorgeous mage who died right before her eyes years ago.

Addicted to heroin, Jack is a shadow of the man Pete knew all those years ago. Unsure if she can trust him she realises pretty quick that he does have the information she needs and the means to stop the children from going missing. So Pete rolls up her sleeves and gets a crash course in the supernatural shadow world of the fey in the hope of saving the kidnapped children.

This first novel in a new series this was a pretty good debut. Of course I am not new to the author and love her Nocturne series but the Black London series is very different. The huge different in this series is that it is based in London. So many books in this genre are based in the States and it is really (even if it makes me slightly homesick) to have a book based in the UK. Kittredge pulls of the 'Britishness' very well and the change of scenery makes it a refreshing read.

Dark, fast-paced and full of magic this is a must read for fans of the Dresden Files or the Nightside series. Very different from alot of the books out there but still some familiarity this is looks like it is going to pan out to be a very interesting series.

I only have one peeve...the name of the main character. Although I know Pete is a female it is a guys name and however much I tried my brain kept getting this confused. Hopefully when book number two, Demon Bound, comes out in December I will be able to remember Pete is a gal!

Lil Marchette is keeping her dating agency Dead End Dating above water but it isn't easy work. It could be a little easier to run the agency if she didn't have to put up with the calls from her mother but most likely it would be easier if she only catered to humans. Dead End Dating is the ultimate meet-and-greet for the fanged, furry and fabulous and there is never a dull moment or date.

A gorgeous eight-hundred-year-old warlock has kidnapped one of Lil's clients and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. So Lil rushes off to Texas in the hope of finding the warlock herself and saving her client from being sacrificed. It doesn't turn out to be as easy as Lil thought and then her friends and mom turn up to help her.

Will Lil manage to save the day and her dating agency? Can she solve the relationship problems between her friend and brother? Can she stop her mom from poisoning her human sister-in-law? It is all in a days work for Lil Marchette and maybe she will find some time to relax with hunky boyfriend Ty along the way.

It is hard to believe that Sucker for Love is book five in the Dead-End Dating series. Even with the long breaks between the releases in this series I never have a problem keeping up with Lil's life, family and friends. Which I think shows how good and how much fun this series is. Full of action but witty and sassy this series is a perfect blend of the paranormal and chick-lit.

Things are progressing nicely in the big picture but things are not looking so good for Lil and I hope she gets a break soon. I am excited to see what happens next in Here Comes the Vampire but I am a little worried about what they will do to the next book cover. My only peeve about this series is the change of cover styles. While books 1 to 3 had nice covers that suited the series and Lil well, the last 2 books have had completely different styles and look silly. So here's hoping to a nice cover next time.

All in all this is a perfect series to relax and have a laugh with. Lil is funny and the kind of vamp a girl hopes to be. Her family are hilarious and the plot is always exciting. A little romance here and there but nothing too over the top. Vamps, weres, demons and more make this a full paranormal house and a super read.

When I contacted Bestselling author Sunny a few months ago, I didn't think I would get a reply. However a few days later Sunny herself replied to me and said she would be happy to be interview as long as the interview was only 6 questions long! Only six questions? How hard can that be? ;)

Sunny's Mona Lisa books took me totally by surprise and I hope that fans of the books will enjoy this interview and anyone who hasn't tried her books will get a craving to try them.

Here is the interview and if you keep reading till the end you will find the information you need to enter this weeks contest.

Enjoy!

-----------------------

Amber - I am very honoured to have Sunny here as my guest this week on Amberkatze's Book Blog. I hope you will start us off by telling my readers a bit about your books?

Sunny - I enjoy blending dark fantasy with romance. My Mona Lisa series is based upon a "children of the moon" idea about a Monère race of supernatural creatures that are faster, stronger, and more beautiful than humans. The ability to shapeshift is one of their gifts. The Demon Princess Chronicles is a spin-off series set in the same world, but more about the blood-drinking demon dead, what the Monère become after they die. In both books, the heroines find not just one love but several gorgeous, worthy men.

Amber - How did the idea for the Mona Lisa series come about? Why the paranormal genre?

Sunny - The paranormal genre came secondary. The first and most important idea was the concept of a supernatural race of creatures descended from the moon, living on Earth after their planet died. The idea was birthed by both my husband and I collaboratively. He thought of using it for a young adult fantasy story, but never got around to writing it. I was quite taken with the idea as a possible adult romance, and it eventually it became my version of vampires and werewolves.

Amber - The books are very sexual. Do you find it hard to write those scenes? Do you have to do alot of research? ;)

Sunny - The "very sexual" part came as quite a surprise to me. I never intended or expected my stories to edge into the erotic, but when I hit the love scenes, the writing and emotions just flowed so easily and in-depth, and more and more ink was devoted to these scenes. I truly believe that to write well, you have to be fearless, and not worry about what your mom or dad or church members will say about your writing. Heck, at the time, I wasn't even sure if I was good enough to be published. I'd never completed a story before. For me, being daring and trying something new was very exciting. The love scenes certainly stirred my creative juice.

Amber - What does the future hold? More Mona Lisa books? More about Lucinda? Any other projects you are working on?

Sunny - LUCINDA, DANGEROUSLY, coming out in October 2009, will be the last book set in this world for a while. A couple of other series ideas have been brewing in the back of my brain for several years, and I want to get these written, and out of my system. I may return back to Mona Lisa's world eventually, but my plans aren't certain at this point.

Amber - What books do you enjoy reading? Are there any series or authors that are a must read for you?

Sunny - I love anything that involves a strong heroine and a love story. I'm basically a romance reader, but have been pulled over into many other genres such as sci fi/fantasy, historicals, even westerns. I follow authors rather than genre. My favorite authors are Lisa Kleypas, Linda Howard, Jayne Anne Krentz, Nora Roberts, Iris Johansen, Suzanne Brockmann, J.R. Ward, Laurell K. Hamilton, Patricia Briggs, Lois McMaster Bujold, Charlaine Harris, Anne Bishop, Joey W. Hill, Sarah McCarty, and Stephanie Meyer.

Amber - If you could be any paranormal creature what would you be and why?

Sunny - That is a tough one. All of them seem to live in pretty vicious worlds. I guess I'd have to say a Monère Queen because she gets to have not just one true love but several, like Mona Lisa. I ended up falling in love with all her male lovers as I wrote them out.

Amber - Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I hope you will pop by again sometime!

It has been two months since Faythe has seen Marc and she can't wait to have him in her arms again. On a mission as an enforcer for her Pride, Faythe is transporting Manx to her trial where she will hopefully not get executed. The plus side of this mission is that she will get to see Marc for all of one night, if she is lucky. However Faythe's luck hasn't got a good track record so who knows what will happen. So when they get ambushed Faythe can only assume that the strays who have ganged up on them are after Manx. What happens after that is more than bad luck.

Marc is missing, kidnapped, presumed dead. The Pride is under attack and Kaci the teenage were-panther Faythe took in is about to die because she refuses to shift. Pulled in all directions Faythe's main concern is Marc but there are events tearing her family apart and she can't ignore them. Faythe can only do what she does best, be smart and use her skills to hopefully save her family and her Pride.

Book four in the Shifters series has a huge wow factor. The series has been building up and up and there doesn't seem to be an end in site, thank god! This is a series that has literally got its claws gripped on to me and won't let go. I can't get enough of Faythe and her Pride and loved this new edition to the series.

I don't want to give too much away because this is definitely a book and series that is best discovered for yourself. However I will say that Faythe shines as always, the plot and story was amazing and this is a series that is not to be missed. Full of action this is clever and original. This is the only were-cat series out there and if there are more then it is the only one worth reading!

This is the best book I have read this month and I can't wait for more. Prey has left me panting for more and I can't wait to see how the little cliffhanger pans out. During the wait for the next Shifters book I will console myself with Rachel Vincent's new series, Soul Screamers. I am sure the debut, My Soul To Take, will be just as good as the Shifter series, if not better.

Advice - Read Rachel Vincent and you are reading one of the best Urban Fantasy authors out there.

Zoë Martinique has spent alot of time getting used to her strange powers but when they suddenly disappear, for no apparent reason, she realises how much see needs them. Not being able to go Wraith leaves Zoë feeling weird but the weirdness is just beginning. Bodily changes, strange dreams and enemies are all around her and she needs her Wraith powers back as soon as possible.

With her mothers soul still trapped in the Abysmal plain there is more than enough motivation for Zoë to get her Wraith back on. However she needs to join up with an old enemy to make that happen and it isn't going to be easy becoming a Wraith again. Trouble is approaching and it is coming for Zoë and the only chance she has of surviving is getting her powers back as soon as possible.

Phantasm is the third book in the Zoë Martinique series. Wraith and Spectre, the first two books, were amazing, fresh and unique so I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Phantasm. However I have to say that while this series continues to be good, new and very unique the year wait between books really took its toll on me. I found it extremely difficult to connect with the characters and plot again after such a long break and this book just kept confusing me.

All that said this series is still great. I love Zoë Martinique and the out of body powers that make her a Wraith sound quite cool and is an area that doesn't come up very much in the Urban Fantasy genre. Full of action that usually sees Zoë being in danger or getting hurt, makes this book a fast paced roller coaster ride of a read.

However I do suggest that people starting this series read the books close together. If you already read Wraith and Spectre then do a little revision before delving into this one because it isn't easy to keep up otherwise. The author does her best to remind the reader of what happened before but it just wasn't enough which in turn had me putting this book down every couple of chapters so I didn't get a headache from information overload.

I am curious what will happen next in Zoë Martinique's world and I hope there will be a fourth book. However if and when it comes out I will make sure that I read up on the previous books again so I don't feel so out of the loop.

My second author interview this weekend is with Lincoln Crisler! His new book Magick and Misery is coming out soon and I am looking forward to reading it.

Read the interview and then enter the contest for your chance to win an ARC of Magick and Misery!

-------------------

Amber - Welcome to Amberkatze's Book Blog! It is great to have you as a guest here and I hope you will enjoy your time here ;) Maybe you can start things off for us by telling my readers a bit about your upcoming release MAGICK & MISERY?

Lincoln - MAGICK & MISERY is my second collection of short horror and dark fiction stories, several of which are previously unpublished. It also includes two reprints, one from Shroud's ABOMINATIONS anthology and another from my out-of-print OUR SHADOWS SPEAK anthology. There's everything inside from zombies to supernatural creatures to the simple horrors of human existence. It's being released this summer by Nick Grabowsky's Black Bed Sheet Books.

Amber - How was the idea for MAGICK & MISERY born? Was it a long process or something that just came to you?

Lincoln - Well, when you write short stories the natural tendency is to send them to magazines and anthologies for publication and then to collect them in a book when you have enough. As for time-frame, a couple of these stories are from 2006 and were written during my deployment to Afghanistan (as were most of the stories in my first collection, DESPAIRS & DELIGHTS) and the last was finished early this year.

Amber - How much research did you have to for MAGICK & MISERY?

Lincoln - For some of the stories, I had the pleasure of making it all up! Some of the others drew on my experiences growing up in the inner city and another was inspired by my love of Isaac Asimov's robots growing up. 'Old Stooping Lugh,' which first appeared in ABOMINATIONS, required the most actual research. It's set in early 20th century Boston, when the Irish and Italian gangs had the city split up. I really wanted to make sure the setting was authentic, so I think I spent more time researching than writing the story. This is the second time the work's seeing print, though, so I'd say it's paid off!

Amber - MAGICK & MISERY is due out soon but what other projects are you working on?

Lincoln - I'm writing my first horror novel right now, about a stage magician who has trouble with rejection. I'm also working on various novellas in progress. I won't name names right now, but a small-press publisher I'd be very happy to work with has indicated that they'll look at a book from me early next year, no matter what their website says about submissions, so I'm thinking a trio (or foursome even) of novellas might do the trick.

Amber - How did you end up being a writer? Was it something you always wanted to do?

Lincoln - It's not something I've always wanted to do; it's something I've always done, with the exception of five years between 2000-2005. I've been telling stories on paper since I could hold a pencil. They've been worth selling (and I've been focused on an eventual career as a professional) for the past three years or so.

Amber - Are you a full-time writer? What kind of jobs have you had in the past? Have any of them helped your writing?

Lincoln - I'm not a full-time writer; I'm actually an Active Duty soldier in the US Army. It's definitely helped my writing. I had ADD growing up and without learning discipline from my training I don't know if I'd be able to complete projects successfully. I've been in the service since 2000 and the plan is to retire in twelve years when I'm 38. By then, I hope to have made it to the big leagues!

Amber - What books do you like to read when you have time? Do you have any must read authors/series?

Lincoln - I always read the new Stephen King book when it comes out; some are better than others, but I think he's hit a streak with the last few he's put out since CELL. I'm an official reviewer for Leisure Books and Bloody Books and they keep me pretty busy. There are a few other authors and publishers that send me review material, too. I feel very loved. I review most of what I read (and if I can't read it for fun, I just put the book down) on my website.

Amber - How do you relax?

Lincoln - When I finally do ever relax, I'll let you know how I did it. I work twelve hours a day (with time in there to work on my writing/research and go to school), plus I'm working on all the projects we've discussed, PLUS I'm doing coursework towards my Bachelor's degree. The closest I come to taking a break is having my allotted three beers a night after I get off shift, and you know what? Some nights I have the laptop with me then, too!

Amber - Lots of authors have playlists for their books. What music or bands would find their place on a playlist for MAGICK & MISERY?

Lincoln - My musical tastes are so diverse and the time frame during which MAGICK's stories were written is so wide that I can't nail down a specific playlist for the book. When I'm writing in general, though, I have several playlists on iTunes. There's a Celtic Punk one (i.e., Pogues, Murphys, Flogging Molly) an R&B one (i.e., Sade, John Legend, Rihanna, T-Pain) and a Rock one (i.e., Daughtry, Audioslave, Tool, Nonpoint). Right now I'm really into the latest albums from Nikka Costa, Chris Cornell and The Streets.

Amber - If you could be any paranormal creature what would you be and why?

Lincoln - I'd go with the Vampire. I don't think I'd really want to live forever, exactly, but a few hundred years might be cool. When I finally got bored, I'd just walk out into the sun.

Amber - You are stranded on a desert island. What 5 things do you hope to have with you?

Lincoln - Computer with satellite internet, a case of scotch whisky, sugar, yeast and brewing materials!

Amber - Thank you so much for being a guest on Amberkatze's Book Blog.

Lincoln - Thank you so much for having me!

When Brianna Winston-Beaufort, Bree for short, inherited her uncles law firm she didn't realise what she had really got herself into. Her clients are ghosts, her staff are angelic like and money is tight. So when her aunt sends her in the direction of a 'normal' case worth alot of money she isn't sure if she should take it or not.

That is until she sees a ghost needing her help and the ghost just happens to be the father of the girl she would be representing. The millionaire ghost is in the deepest part of hell so Bree has to move quickly if she is going to save him. However things are a little complicated as far as the case is concerned and Bree finds herself mixed in a whopper of an investigation.

This second book in the Beaufort & Company mystery series was as nice as the first. Cozy with a paranormal outline this is definitely something for readers who would like to try something a little bit more supernatural but don't want to take the full jump to vampires.

The plot, characters and writing style are unique and fresh. The mystery itself keeps the reader guessing to the very end and the Savannah location makes the series even more special and interesting. I hope there will be alot more books in this series and look forward to catching up with Bree again in the future.

This weekend I have two author interviews and contests for you to enjoy! This first interview and contest is with author Stephen Zimmer. Author Shirley Damsgaard got me and Stephen together for this interview so a huge thanks to her!

I hope you all enjoy the interview and don't forget to enter the contest!

-----------------------------

Amber - Welcome to Amberkatze's Book Blog! It is great to have you as a guest hereand I hope you will enjoy your time here ;) Maybe you can start thingsoff for us by telling my readers a bit about your debut book, The Exodus Gate?

Stephen - –Great to be here Amber, for what I hope is the first of manyfuture visits with you and your readers! Perhaps a few will give me a tryand join me for a lot of literary adventures in the years to come!

The Exodus Gate is my debut novel, a modern epic fantasy that is the firstin a brand new series called The Rising Dawn Saga.

It is written in a multi-threaded style, not all too different fromwriters like George R.R. Martin in that it is structured around severalcharacter threads giving the reader many perspectives on the course ofevents portrayed in the saga.

As far as the plot itself:

"What if you were a nationally syndicated radio host, whose show dealtwith topics like the paranormal, shadow governments and conspiracies, mythological creatures, and the supernatural?

What if you came into possession of a virtual reality simulator thatbrought you face to face with the clear revelation that many of the topicscovered on your show were rooted in hard reality?

Benedict Darwin is one such character who finds himself in possession ofsuch a device. He soon finds himself immersed into the midst of war asold as time itself, a conflict between the heavenly realms of Adonai andthe infernal dominions of Diabolos, The Shining One. The fierce struggleunfolds in more than one realm of existence, as a shadow is falling acrossthe entire world."

The story has many elements with foundations in the lore and mythology of several different cultures, ranging from Sumerian/Babylonian myths, towritings in Christan/Jewish Mysticism, to Asian, Greek, and Persianmythology, to Flood Lore, and a whole lot more. Germanic and Celticelements begin to make an appearance that is built up more heavily in the sequel. A lot of ingredients for a very special main course!

Expect some high-octane adventure involving shape-shifters, monstrousoffspring of supernatural beings and humans, demonic and angelic entitiesof a variety of kinds, and a whole lot more!

Amber - How was the idea for The Exodus Gate? Was it a long process or somethingthat just came to you?

Stephen - The idea for the Exodus Gate largely sparked out of a lot of interestscoming together at once, and then percolating and expanding. I havealways liked Art Bell and the Coast to Coast radio show that is heard herein the US and syndicated around the world. I have listened to it on many, many a night over the years.

A part of me often wondered what guys like Art and George Noory might haveaccess to “behind the scenes”, so to speak. What if they were privy tosomething really fantastic? What if in the course of their career fellinto possession of, or an encounter with, something particularly amazing?

The Exodus Gate’s Benedict Darwin is host of a late night talk showfocusing on the paranormal, supernatural, conspiracies, and other “more“fringe” topics. The character is not based on Art Bell or George Noory, but is inspired by the kind of radio show that they have developed, andtheir unique position as a host at the epicenter of so many intriguingsubjects.

The VR device that Benedict has in this story leads to all kinds ofincredible things, involving many topics that he has covered on the show.It throws him into the heart of an epic supernatural war, putting him faceto face with mythical creatures, while pulling back the veil to show himthe real existence of the paranormal/supernatural world.

The story evolved for several years, resulting in a first draft in the90’s that I ended up feeling really was not ready. I then did a majoroverhaul of the book starting in the early part of this decade, coupledwith a lot more research, and got it to the point where I was ready totake it to an editor.

My editor Amanda DeBord and I work very well together in the editingphase, and I hope that the readers like the result!

Amber - How much research did you have to for The Exodus Gate?

Stephen – Lots and lots. From ancient and medieval writings in Jewish andChristian mysticism, to non-canonical religious works such as the Book ofEnoch, to Persian, Greek, Asian, Celtic, and Germanic mythology, to a widearray of legends and myths, I have done a lot of background for thisparticular series.

Additionally, I have done a lot of research into weapons systems, militaryequipment and tactics, firearms, and even more mundane things likefurnishings and architecture within large estate dwellings. Delved intothe world of international banks and central banking systems too (normallya dry subject, but it adds a special dimension to this series, as readers will discover!)

I even had to do some serious analysis of the flora and fauna in theDaniel Boone National Forest in the state of Kentucky, and had some realfun with this in regards to my shape-shifting, wolfish An-Ki (and Iresearched a fair bit on wolves to help with some of the foundations ofthe An-Ki).

Also looked into similar topical areas regarding Mesopotamia and theSyrian Desert, including the cultures of ancient Sumeria and Akkadia.

There is going to be a real international flavor to this series, thoughmuch of the foundation in the first book is set in a place similar to theUSA. Readers will see the doors opening to a worldwide spectrum, though,as they are introduced to some international characters and see thingsemerging at the level of some very powerful internationalist/globalistentities.

Amber - The Exodus Gate has already been released but it is only thefirst in the series. When will the other books be released and how many will there be in the series?

Stephen - It will not be a never-ending series! LOL.

Based on the material that I have now, it should be five books. Maybe onemore, or two at the most depending on how it is edited, but it will not gobeyond that. The second book is already written, and I will be handingthat over to Amanda when she finished with the first book in anotherseries that I have (Which she is almost done with now!).

Look for the second installment of The Rising Dawn Saga around February of2010.

I know where the story is headed, so there won’t be any loose ends at theconclusion. I like to underscore that, for potential readers of theseries. You can rest assured that I’m not going to write myself into acorner, lol.

My readers can expect a tight course of storylines and they will not bekept waiting around very long for new installments. I am dedicated todelivering them a wealth of material for sure!

Amber - What other projects are you working on? Do you have any other ideas you want to see put on print in the future?

Stephen –- This fall, the first book in my medieval-epic fantasy series is scheduledto be released.

From there we hope to release one book in each series per year (betweenthat series and the Rising Dawn Saga). Every six months or so we intendto have a new book coming out, which won’t leave fans of one particularseries waiting around for too long. As mentioned before, look for thesequel to The Exodus Gate in the first quarter of 2010.

Two novels a year is not an unreasonable or overly ambitious plan, as Ihave been developing both series for quite a while. I write on afull-time schedule, and am well ahead on fairly tight drafts that justneed to go through the editing process.

I hope to work with Matthew Perry as my artist on the future novels, as Ireally do like having illustrations included. Matthew is reallyfantastic, as anyone seeing the fifteen full page illustrations he did forThe Exodus Gate can see.

I have also been working on some short stories that are more heavilyweighted in the horror genre (which I feel show a little of my CliveBarker influence), as well as jotting down some ideas for what looks to bea young adult-type modern fantasy series.

Gathering a few ideas for a few historical fiction concepts set inmedieval periods (though I might infuse these with some light fantasyelements), as well as a pure epic fantasy trilogy storyline that I havebeen fleshing out and really taking a strong liking to lately.

I also would like to craft an epic fantasy set in a futuristic/spacesetting, and have done some development and notes in that regard.

Lots of ideas, as you might tell, but I assure you that I will keep asolid focus on the series I have been developing. I will not allow myselfto become spread too thin. This is what I love to do though, and I spendhours and hours and hours each week writing and researching.

Amber - How did you end up being a writer? Was it something you alwayswanted to do?

Stephen –- I'’ve always wanted to be a storyteller, and as I moved into high-school adesire to be a writer of novels began to emerge. It really blossomed incollege, and hit full gear towards the later 90’s.

I also am a filmmaker with two distributed projects so far, so the driveto be a storyteller is present in that sphere as well.

I’m very self-critical, so it took awhile before I felt I could be seriousabout pursuing writing. (Several years in fact, to reach the point when Ifinally felt that I could hand a novel draft over to an editor)
Amber - Are you a full-time writer? What kind of jobs have you had in the past?Have any of them helped your writing?

Stephen –- At the moment, I still do some freelance video/broadcast work in additionto my activities as an author/filmmaker. Anything that I can glean off ofmy writing pursuits is channeled to go into helping me make personalappearances and develop some nice accompanying artwork and materials formy readers. It is of the utmost importance to me to make myselfaccessible to readers in person and online, and to bring out some niceextras to accompany the stories for those with a collector mindset (whichI have, so that part of it is very fun for me too!).

I assure you that I spend more than a full-time schedule now with my bookand film work. I passionately hope that I am able to make the transitionto full immersion into these fantastical worlds without the need forsupplemental income from freelance jobs as soon as possible! Readers, help me out here! Set me completely free! In return I’ll work my tailoff to bring you all a ton of good stuff for years to come! LOL

In the past, I have done many varied things, primarily in videoproduction-related areas like running cameras, running live tv graphicssoftware, working in production offices, directing, and even holding boompoles for audio! I have also been a fitness consultant at a gym, doneinternship stints in television news stations, and have worked as atechnician in a cancer research lab! Though not paid work, I havevolunteered at a rehabilitation hospital and even taught 1 year of Sunday school classes, both of which were very unique experiences.

Each and every experience helps in your writing. Whether it is justinteracting with new people, or getting insights into different industries (which happens a lot in video production, when you are doing commercialsfor various types of clients), you have to keep your eyes open at alltimes. You can’t help but pick up many interesting things that you willfind to be very useful for your writing.

Amber - What books do you like to read when you have time? Do you haveany must read authors/series?

Stephen –- I believe strongly that to be a good writer you must be sure toset aside time to be a good reader.

Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia were my two biggestinfluences growing up, the former read to me in my youth by my mother(along with The Hobbit), so those are my “must reads”.

Beyond that, the Drenai series and the Stones of Power series by DavidGemmell, the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, E.E.Knight’s Vampire Earth series, R.A. Salvatore’s Drizzt Do’Urden novels,C.S. Friedman’s Coldfire Trilogy, Glen Cook’s Black Company series, and Brian Lumley’s Necroscope series, Clive Barker, especially his earlierwork on up to Imagica, and Roger Zelazny’s Chronicles of Amber series area few others that immediately come to mind.

As I get out more in support of The Exodus Gate, I have been discoveringsome really excellent small press authors and feel compelled to discussthat a little here for a good reason.

Some small press writers that I wholeheartedly recommend checking outinclude H. David Blalock (Ascendant, on Sams Dot Publishing, which I amfinishing up now, a great read), Lettie Prell (Dragon Ring, on Flying PenPress, a very imaginative blend of things within a fantasy context),Jackie Gamber (Redheart, on Meadowhawk Press, Book One of the Leland Dragon Series, very well-crafted, and definitely would appeal to fans ofE.E. Knight’s Age of Fire series), and sci-fi author Tyree Campbell (Sam’sDot Publishing, very creative and highly enjoyable science fiction books).Sara Harvey and Elizabeth Donald are a couple more writers that I see asvery gifted and very worth checking out, and people should check out thetitles on Double-Edged Publishing as well. There are many more, and I wishI could go on and on, but I don’t want to take up too much of your spacehere!

As the economic crunch has deeply affected major publishers, causing themto downsize their rosters and limit their catalogs, I believe that thereis an ongoing explosion of talent within the small press arena. I thinkthat the major bookstore chains should really take a closer look at thegrowing field of small press authors, especially with the dwindlingrosters on the major press level.

There is and will continue to be a growth of very outstanding material inthe small press world. The small press arena is where you will have amuch better chance of finding original and ground-breaking fantasymaterial, as the larger publishers are even less prone to taking risksthese days.

Amber - How do you relax?

Stephen - –That’s a very good question! Do I ever relax? Some of the people around me might say I don’t! LOL

Believe it or not, I really do enjoy gardening, as more than ever it afford you the ability to really step outside the oversaturation ofelectronics, media, etc. that we have grown to live with these days. I amfar from being an expert, but I love growing peppers, squash, all mannerof tomatoes, and I’m getting slightly better with flowers. It is not ahobby that is altogether hard to get into, just something that you have totend to consistently for good results. I like to say that it is my “Zenactivity”.

I do enjoy a pretty good range of things. As a filmmaker, I obviouslylove movies. Like books, I lean towards the epic-scale in that medium aswell. I happen to love travel, which is fortunate due to the need to domany trips as an author. I would like to do more international travel, having been to the Caribbean, England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republicof Ireland. Those trips definitely ignited some fires in me for more. Ihope to visit Germany in the coming year.

I like physical activity such as working out, and hiking in the greatoutdoors. I used to be certified in scuba diving and plan to brush up onthat as soon as I can.

Though I grew up with basset hounds, I have had a couple of wonderful catsthat have gotten through my longtime staunch declaration of being a“dog-person”. The current feline resident and family member, Harry, drawsa lot of attention from me! I like to say that he is my loyal assistant,as he dutifully keeps me company in the home office and is willing to workfor fish dinners!

Lastly, I’m also a very serious-minded supporter of the 2nd Amendment tothe US constitution, probably one of the most sorely misunderstoodamendments by both US citizens and people from other countries alike. I
do enjoy the history, the technology, and the craft involved withfirearms. While far from being an expert, I have learned a bit in thelast couple of years in these areas, and I take the right andresponsibility close to heart as it relates to the concept of genuinefreedom.

Amber - Lots of authors have playlists for their books. What music or bands would find their place on a playlist for The Exodus Gate?

Stephen -– I love heavier-edged music and rock, as it always gets the bloodflowing and keeps the mood upbeat! You have kept the faith very well inEurope as it regards the world of metal, and for that I am tremendouslygrateful! It would be incredible some day to do a book tour in Europe andgo to some of those awesome outdoor hard rock/metal festivals I alwaysenvy when I read about them.

For The Exodus Gate I would go for something powerful, epic, driving, withstirring melodies and vocal harmonies. Heavy progressive metal bands likeFinland’s Nightwish (one of my favorite bands), Symphony X and DreamTheater, and Sweden’s Cloudscape come to immediate mind. Maybe a little Rush (another one of my favs), and possibly a little Fear Factory, especially for some of the moments spent in the depths of the Abyss!

Nightwish and Symphony X are currently on my little playlist/player on mysite, as a matter of fact, and I often listened to these great bands whileworking on the final run of The Exodus Gate.

Amber - If you could be any paranormal creature what would you be and why?

Stephen - Werewolf-type entity, hands down. I could still operate with no real difficulty in the regular world, while having all of the benefits ofgreatly enhanced senses, immortality, as well as a very formidable ability to take on the wicked and the oppressive in this world! Not a bad packagewhen you think about it! Of course, I have always had a real aversion tosituations of obvious injustice, so I would probably be in danger of turning into some kind of lupine vigilante, LOL!

Amber - You are stranded on a desert island. What 5 things do you hope to have with you?

Stephen - A satellite phone, fishing line set with hooks, a tent, adesalination filter, and a good military-quality knife. I know, kind ofboring, but it would go a long way to helping me live to enjoy books again! (And this is assuming that my 5 things could not include a boat with a solar-powered electric motor, or something of that sort.)

Amber - Thank you so much for being a guest on Amberkatze's Book Blog.

Stephen - Thank you for the opportunity, this has been a blast! Like Isaid, I hope to be a return guest many times in the future, and I deeplyappreciate your support of fantasy writers!
