Reading Music

I wrote something for the 31 Days of Halloween event over on Read All Over Reviews.

It was posted the other day but I completely forgot about it going up and didn't hear from the blog owner that it had definitely gone up. Would be nice to hear what you guys think about reading and music...

What a great article!

Amber, I am like you, I find it hard to concentrate on my book when I have music in the background. Sometimes I will play instrumental pieces but it is rare indeed that I have songs with lyrics playing while I'm trying to read.

I think that your choice for the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J. R. Ward was inspired! I hadn't heard the song before but I 'iTuned' it and now I like a new band.

I am intrigued by the song you chose for the Weather Warden Series by Rachel Caine for two reasons: another new band for me, and a series that I so want to get into but have not had the time (what with all the other 100+ books on my list at the mo...)

So, what instrumental pieces have I listened to while reading? Lately I've been plain the OST to Sherlock Holmes. I also like the OSTs for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (yes, I know it's old!), Star Wars Ep. 1: The Phantom Menace, and The Matrix.

Oh, and sometimes I will put on SHINE, the CD by BOND

that should say:

"Lately I've been playing" - not plain

Sorry I didn't let you know, Amber. I went out of town on the 29th and had everything scheduled. I apologize.
