164) Retribution by Jeanne C. Stein

Anna Strong is a newly turned vampire who has been thrown into her new way of life in the hardest of ways. Her new abilities are coming in useful for her job as bounty hunter and she enjoying herself more than ever. However she is also trying to keep a low profile and have a quiet life. After all her life is now alot longer.

So with her partner out of town and her family abroad, Anna is busy staying out of vampire type problems. That is until some young vampires turn up dead, completely drained of blood. Of course Anna wants to say no to Williams when he asks for her help but she, and he, knows she can't. Although after everything she goes through to find out who is killing the girls and why, she is going to wish she had stayed away from the whole thing.

Retribution is the fifth book in the Anna Strong Vampire Novels and the series just keeps impressing me. Anna is one of the first vampires I came to know and love in this genre and each time a new book comes out it is like catching up with an old friend. Anna is the kind of vampire I would love to be. She is clever, pretty and kicks serious butt! Hard and tough she is also down to earth and has a good sense of what is right and wrong.

This new installment about Anna's life is just as good as the previous books. An old enemy comes out to play and all the characters we know and love are back in some way or another. Sure I missed Anna's partner, who is on holiday and her family, who are now in France but they were mentioned and I am sure they will be back again soon.

I hope Anna will, like her name, stay Strong. I want, no I need, more books about Anna. She is one amazing vampire and the books about her are an excitement filled Paranormal Urban Fantasy delight.
