Currently Ready & To Be Read

Well I have nearly reached my 100 books read aim for this year with still over two months to go.  It actually surprises me that I have read so much despite not really reading, in my opinion, a lot.

I haven't been feeling so good lately so my reading has suffered a little.  Plus my to be read pile got all messed up again when I came across a couple of review books I hadn't read in time for their release dates so I am playing catch up again!

Currently Reading :

This book released this week and I haven't started it yet.  It is next up after I finish another review book.

I love Kelly Armstrong and look forward to checking out this book.  The blurb says it is two brand new tales so I hope they really are new.  However the page count looks like these two tales are pretty long.

Hope to have this one read by the end of next weekend.  I have way more time to listen to books than sit down and read them this year.


Currently Listening To : 

I have gotten really addicted to this series and seeing as I am really behind I have no problem listening to another.  I would probably binge the whole series if it wasn't for some other books I have that need to be listened to.

The Scumble River series is long running and pretty old.  This is the sixth book and I think there are about eleven more I need to read to be all caught up.  It is really amusing to pick up this series and have everyone looking for phones because mobiles are a big thing yet.  There are other quirky aspects in there too and I am enjoying a little look back to the past.

Pretty sure this book will be finished by the middle of the week, if not sooner.

There are so many books on this list that are not getting read!  Why?  Arrgggh!  Frustrating!

I haven't really updated the list but not a lot has changed.  I need to do a bit of cleaning up this month!

Currently Reading & To Be Read

Back to work and despite my best intentions I don't get to spend much time with my Kindle lately.  Audiobooks are another matter but they are slow going and don't help my tbr pile very much.  I hope you are all getting some books read.  Most likely more than me!

Here is my currently reading and to be read info.  Of course there are other books that have been on my shelf longer but who really keeps to any order except what they really want to read?

Currently Reading :

I have been following this series for years now and it is most likely one of the first (maybe even the first) paranormal cozy mystery series I ever tried/read.  Abby has changed a lot of the years and I know some of the last few books haven't been my favourites but I can't give up on the series.

One of the things that annoys me the most about this series is the price of the new releases.  Even on Kindle the price is three times that of a normal Kindle book.  I have no idea why the price is so high for new releases in this series and I wonder how many people are buying the book at that price?

This was a present, a lovely present and one I was very happy to receive.  Otherwise I doubt if this book would have made it onto my Kindle before the next installment comes out.


 Currently Listening To : 

The Rose Gardner series has me hooked.  I can't get enough of this series even if there are some annoying characters and very frustrating relationship problems.  Rose is interesting and addictive.  I just can't keep away and can't wait to see what happens next.

I am looking forward to listening to this sixth installment.  There were some interesting developments in the last book and I am looking forward to seeing what comes next.

A great series to listen to and I am sure it is a great one to read too.  Lovely paranormal twist in this cozy and well written!

There are so many books on this list that are not getting read!  Why?  Arrgggh!  Frustrating!

I really want to say that I am going to spend September catching up with some of the books that have spent too long on this list but who am I kidding?  I would be happy to get one of them read!

Currently Reading & To Be Read

Summer is nearly over and I am looking forward to some cooler weather.  I expected to have more time to read the last couple of months but I have been too busy and distracted.  However I am way ahead as far as my reading goal goes.  I am definitely going to hit that 100 book mark before the year is over.

Hopefully things will be a little busier around here soon!  More reviews and maybe some other posts in between so you know I am still around ;)  For now here is my currently reading and to be read info.

Currently Reading :

I feel like I have fallen into a rabbit hole with this third installment in the Cainsville series.  I definitely needed a 'previously in Cainsville' intro because Kelley just jumped back into things with no concerns for us people who have been busy with other books for the year since book two came out.

Despite the disorientation I managed to get back into things but keep having 'oh yeah' moments when I remember the reasons and connections to everything going on.

This third book is starting to feel completely different to the last two and I am really not sure how my review is going to look.  Right now it could go either way but I feel like I am waiting for a  huge shoe to drop and have everything make sense.

I am halfway through but I admit I am struggling.  I really liked the series so far but Deceptions hasn't totally grabbed me yet and I don't know if it will.

Currently Listening To : 

There hasn't been much audio book action lately and it is mainly due to the irregular hours I have had at work.   I always listen to books on the way to and from work but there have been a couple of half work weeks. I didn't want to start a new audio when I knew I would only get to listen to it for a couple of days and then not get to it again for a week.

However I am back in work tomorrow and I can't wait to start this fourth book in the Scumble River Mysteries.  I am really looking forward to finding out what happens to Skye in this next installment.  I am really late starting this series and I am really trying hard to catch up!
