149) Magic at the Gate by Devon Monk

The Blurb -

Allie Beckstrom's lover, Zayvion Jones, is a Guardian of the Gate, imbued with both light and dark magic and responsible for ensuring that those energies don't mix. But Zayvion lies in a coma, his soul trapped in death's realm. And when Allie discovers that the only way to save Zayvion is to sacrifice her very own magical essence, she makes a decision that may have grave consequences for the entire world.

My Thoughts -

Another part in the Allie Beckstrom series and another amazing read. The book starts off exactly where we left Allie last time and the action begins and continues till the end. There isn't much I can say about this series that I haven't said before. This is one of the best Urban Fantasy series out there and is definitely not one to be missed.

This new addition to the series was not my favourite so far but it was a story to remember. With Zayvion in a coma and Allie running around trying to save him there is a lot of suspense and some new twists to keep the reader enticed.

Magic and mayhem with strong characters and a super gifted main character is what you can expect from these books. The author has created something realistic and unique and I can't wait to see what happens next.

If you haven't already tried this series then I highly recommend you do.

I have tried Magic to the Bone once, but got stuck halfway. Perhaps I will pick it up again, since you are so enthusiastic about this series Amber.

Maybe the series just isn't for you?

I can't remember how many times I have heard people praise a series, only to try it myself and hate it :)

Yes, that could be, of course. Tastes do differ luckily. But as I have read some of your reviews on books I also like, we do have a somewhat similar taste. So perhaps, when next I am in the mood for Urban Fantasy, i'll try it again.
