The Blurb -
Nikki Glass can track down any man. But when her latest client turns out to be a true descendant of Hades, Nikki now discovers she can’t die. . . . Crazy as it sounds, Nikki’s manhunting skills are literally god-given. She’s a living, breathing descendant of Artemis who has stepped right into a trap set by the children of the gods.
Nikki’s new “friends” include a descendant of Eros, who uses sex as a weapon; a descendant of Loki, whose tricks are no laughing matter; and a half-mad descendant of Kali who thinks she’s a spy. But most powerful of all are the Olympians, a rival clan of immortals seeking to destroy all Descendants who refuse to bow down to them. In the eternal battle of good god/bad god, Nikki would make a divine weapon. But if they think she’ll surrender without a fight, the gods must be crazy. . . .
My Review -
Jenna Black has been on my must read list for a while. I am slowly getting through her Faewalker series (I am not a huge fae fan....) but everything else she has written has gone straight on pre-order. So when Dark Descendant was on Amazon it was pre-ordered for my Kindle and I couldn't wait to see what delights the author was going to amaze me with with her new series.
Well to start things off I have to say 'WOW'! I am extremely amazed. I didn't expect this to be so good and grab me that much. I have to admit that the cover, although it looks cool, was putting me off a little and it didn't seem to fit the blurb. However it is the inside of the book that counts and the story is super. I am glad I didn't get put off by the cover and went with my love for the author.
Dark Descendant starts with a bang and doesn't let go till the end. The story is full of suspense and action while the plot flows in all the best directions possible. This new and unique concept really left me excited and surprised. I can't wait to see what happens next and where Jenna will take Nikki and the rest of the Descendants.
With a cool mythology twist and a nice set of characters, this series is going to be a winner. I am pretty sure that Dark Descendant is going to be in my top ten of best read books for 2011 because it was so well written and excitingly unusual. Urban Fantasy is never boring but Jenna Black has taken things to a new level with this one. I can only drool over the book and eagerly await the next book in the series.

I have had this author on my TBR list for a while too. I need to grab this one! Thanks for the review
Have to say I love the cover :)
I still haven't read any Jenna Black so far either. I have a question Amber: did you read or see Percy Jackson and the lightning thief, and is this a bit similar? Also the children of the gods and stuff ...
@ Diana - I love the cover too but didn't think it fit to the story.
@ Aurian - Haven't read any Percy Jackson but this one is like the Dark-Hunters but more Urban Fantasy.
