Linda was here late last year to tell us all about the new book but now she is here to tell us a little bit more about how it came about and how it fits in with the Hex series.
If you enter the contest this week you may just win your own copy of Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend. So make sure you check it out after reading the guest blog!

Witches and Demons, Oh My!
Thank you Amber for having me here!
For the past year my fans have written me with ‘where are the rest of the Hex books? Why are you writing a new series?’
First, the Hex books are still going strong. Second, it’s a new series, yet now.
When my editor met Declan, the super hot demon, she wanted to change the look of the series. That’s why the new cover and title. But the witches are still there. Maggie, who readers met in Hex in High Heels, is back in Demons Are A Girl’s Best Friend. As a team leader for the Hellion Guard, badass protectors for the supernaturals. They’re always on duty magick in their blood, fangs, paws, and claws ready to do the job. Oh yes, don’t mess with the Hellion Guard!
And now Maggie’s dealing with her attraction to underground club owner, and half fire demon, Declan, the abrupt guardianship of a fifteen-year-old girl whose death due to an ancient Mayan and demon curse would destroy the world, and hm, isn’t that enough?
While magick bunny slippers Fluff and Puff love nothing more than donning camo, this time is diamond covered black widow spider Elle who watches Maggie’s back and spends her free time surfing the web looking for the right hex to keep her lovers alive.
As always there’s a variety of creatures populating Maggie’s world. Caffeine guzzling ferrets who are the Hellion Guard Compound’s messengers, Seers who look as if they’re still living in the 1960s, vampires, trolls, brownies, and Fae, oh my!
I wanted a roller coaster ride of a book and I hope you see it that way. This series has evolved with each book. I’ve brought a new witch to life showing another part of their world and given them a sexy guy to fall in love with.
But since it can’t be all easy, I’ve also given them challenges, villains to battle, creature sidekicks that don’t always make their lives easy, and the mention of basic food groups known as coffee and chocolate.
Isn’t it fun to lose yourself with a world where pretty much anything can happen? For a few hours you can forget about the laundry piling up, a dinner menu that needs to come to mind, and does that room really need a good cleaning right now?
I hope you’ll take some time for yourself with a book in hand and what can I say? If it’s mine, I’ll be happy. If not, I’ll still be happy as long as you’re doing some ‘me’ time.
So tell me, do you take that me time? And what do you do with it?
Linda

Usually, ME time features me curled up on my loveseat with either my laptop or my current read. I have a coke or herbal tea within arm's reach and my cat is laying on my lap while a movie plays on the TV.
Ms. Wisdom - will Jazz and Nick ever get another book? I know that after Maggie you plan on Lilibeth, but any ideas on what/who will come after that?
And, oh yeah, what about Thea?! Will her story EVER see the printed page?! I've been DYING with impatience waiting for her ghost story!

Ina, Music is always a good thing, but my TV is usually running. I've always been able to read and watch TV at the same time and keep track of both.
Hi Calliope! Since my publisher changed their minds and didn't want the ghost town story, I'm bringing Thea's book out myself. Yes, Lili's book is A Demon Does It Better. You can always check my website to see when Thea's book is released. And my backlist books are up as ebooks with more to follow along with original witchy material coming out.

Linda - I don't have "ME" time, sad to say. Just don't. I know this is bad for the brain. But writing books under deadline, and then promo, PR, and new proposals, not to mention all the volunteer stuff i do, AND the day job, leaves me little wiggle room.
These days my only remotely ME time is exercise, which is a given, and always in my schedule. Though I have to say that sitting in the sun with my feet up and a book in my hand... like your book... would be the ultimate PLEASURE. Ah. Wonderful dreams.

I seem to be getting more "me time" the older my children get (I stopped aging long ago). Right now, when the weather is perfect, it involves sitting outside, listening to the birds sing and the bees, while I write or daydream on the deck.
And I'm going to have to pick up these books. They look interesting and I can't wait.

Now that my kids are grown and pretty much out of the house, I indulge in me time with a book in hand several times a day. My hubby and I also indulge in me time, especially in the summertime. We take motorcycle rides to the mountains and have picnics along the parkway. Absolute nirvana!

Hi Linda! I'm not as good at taking me time as I should be, but I do try to take the bus to work everyday so that I have time to read on my commute (instead of getting annoyed by other drivers). Also I like to takes long walks around the city when I get the time! Thanks for the contest!

You asked about "me time", Linda. With 4 young granddaughters underfoot these past 10 years, I've never thought about "me" personally. But the idea is fabulous, and the reading materials I've put aside for "some day", is now "here". Thanks so much for the wake up call. Books, here I come! Joy at happyhilljoy@yahoo.com

I try to take me time every day, which usually means re3ading some book in peace and quiet. Also, I like to go to cinema all alone to watch new movies. It's really very different from going to the cinema with someone else, I can focus on the movie solely and enjoy it much more.

Wheeeeee, it's Linda! Love the witches and the wild, sometimes wacky characters you dream up!
My me time is spent reading for the most part. That can be at home, in the back patio, or on the beach. Occasionally I catch up on TV shows I'd recorded, but a book is never far from my hands!
I've already read Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend, so no need to add me to the drawing.

Hi Marne! That's what I enjoy. Sitting on the patio and enjoying the day.
How cool, Lisa R! I'd love to be out that way.
Hi Faefever. I tend to get a little reading in with my coffee first thing in the morning. It's a great way to gear up for the day.
Good idea, SandyG!
I hear ya on the pjs and lounging Julie S.
Hi Tore. It's a good way to relax, isn't it?
How perfect Crystal!

I do take 'me time', sometimes it's just a stop at the foo-foo coffee shop with a chai and my purse book for thirty minutes. When I start my shift work soon, I'll have a better chance to get in more 'me time' and go to the movies as well as stopping at the foo-foo coffee shop for a sip'n'read.
BTW: I love the mental image of the caffeine guzzling ferrets....

I do take "Me Time" by curling up with either a glass of wine or a hot coffee and read a good book. Nobody can bother until I emerge from the pages. I tweeted this contest http://twitter.com/?status=Amberkatze%27s%20Book%20Blog%3A%20http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2FgKKwLl%20via%20%40addthis#!/bk36/status/60726942281908224
Thanks,

When I get me time I usually spend it with a good book and a hot or cold drink depending on what mood I'm in. I also like my favorite candles burning and I'm in my comfortable sweats.
