Special Interview & Contest with author J.F. Lewis

This weekend I have a couple of male author guests to show you that it isn't all just romance and girly stuff! The Paranormal and Urban Fantasy genre is very female writer dominated but there are a few of the guys out there too. So I hope you will enjoy getting to know two of them.

First up is author J.F. Lewis. He is not new to the scene and has been a guest here on Amberkatze's Book Blog a few times. His fourth book in the Void City series, Burned, has just released and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

You all have the chance to get to know one of the best characters in the series. Greta, as you will see, is different to the vampires you come across. This interview will definitely give you a chance to see how cool, unusual and awesome this series is.

Enjoy! And don't forget to enter the contest at the end!

-----------------------------

Amber - Hello Greta! Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions for my blog readers. How was your Christmas?

Greta - I ate a pony and Dad let me drive Fang through a chicken farm. That was awesome, though very feathery.

Amber - And how did you see in the New Year?

Greta - We went to Disney. It was really awesome even though Dad wouldn't let me eat anyone we didn't know. It was kind of like brown bagging it through Paris or something, but I maxed out my score on the Buzz Lightyear ride, so I'm a Galactic Champion or whatever.

Amber - Did you make any New Years resolutions?

Greta - To find out what the hell Dad is hiding from me.

Amber - How is your dad doing? Keeping you busy?

Greta - Yes, I told you he's hiding stuff from me, but I'll figure it out.

Amber - I heard there is a new book coming out about you and your dad Eric. What will this story be about?

Greta - (Pauses and looks confused. Talbot walks over to her and whispers something in her ear.) Talbot says to tell you that I'm Greta from between Crossed and Burned, but if you ask me, if I were in a book, the next one would be about me figuring out what the heck Dad is trying to hide from me and why.

Amber - What is it like working with Jeremy on the books? Does he ask you about your point of view on things?

Greta - (Talbot walks up again. whispers. Greta nods.) It's more like he's a documentarian following me around and writing about whatever I do, then editing it together with his observations on my Dad so that it forms a narrative.

Amber - If the books were going to be made into a film or TV series who would you like to see playing your part?

Greta - If I were in a movie, I'd like to be played by someone thin, but not too thin... Callista Flockheart maybe? No, she's too old. Nobody fat though. Oh! They could CGI me! Yes! And then Andy Serkis could perform me. I loved him as Gollum!

Amber - Void City seems to be a very interesting place to live. How do you like it?

Greta - It would be a lot more fun if Dad just let me kill all of the annoying people, but he won't so it's cool, but not as awesome as it should be,

Amber - What do you like to read, watch and listen to? Any recommendations?

Greta - Lately, I've been watching the Brimstones. It's on Demon TV. You know, like how sound radio stations are heard one way, by humans and another by the supernatural? It's kind of like a demonic version of the Flintstone. But I also like House, Downton Abbey, and Mythbusters.

Amber - What's your favorite paranormal movie of all time?

Greta - The Wizard of Oz! I sooo want to land a house on someone someday.

Amber - What comes next? Another book? Do you have any plans for the future?

Greta - I've been thinking that maybe I should travel, if that's what you mean, but I don't like to go places by myself and taking Dad somewhere can be problematic. He's sort of a homebody. I think I'd like to find a friend and take them with me to kill lots of people in new and interesting places. Maybe Dad will let me borrow Fang!

I really want to visit Great Britain and go on a tour of all the countries - England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. I'd love to visit the Scandinavian countries, as well as Spain and Greece as well. Let's face it, I'd love to go on a European tour, that would be fabulous.

Where do I want to visit someday is hard for me to answer. I have plenty of places that I would love to visit. The top of my list would be visiting Ireland and then Scotland. I would also like to visit Australia someday. There is also plenty of places that I would like to visit in United States to. I didn't get to travel when growing up, so there is a lot of interesting places that I would like to visit.

I'd love to travel to tropical places near the water of course. I love the feeling of the sun soaking in my skin, reading a good book and having sexy male servers. So places like Jamaica, and Cancun.
Thanks for the terrific interview with Greta. I'm up to date on the series, can't wait to get my hands on Ms. Lewis' latest installment.
