Ciara’s con-artist parents taught her three keys to survival: keep low, keep quiet, and most of all, keep moving. But managing WVMP, the Lifeblood of Rock ’n’ Roll—not to mention becoming a vampire herself—has kept her in one place long enough to fall madly in love, adopt an undead dog . . .
. . . and make more enemies than she can shake a stake at.
A psychotic DJ, a wanna-be necromancer, and a posse of vengeful hippies would all love to see Ciara get her day in the sun—literally. To protect Ciara, her fiancé, Shane, has traded his flannel shirt and guitar for a flak jacket and crossbow. If she survives to walk down the aisle, will she recognize the man waiting at the altar?
My Thoughts :
Lust for Life is WVMP Radio book #4 and the final part of the series. It's been a while since book three came out and it was weird going back into the WVMP radio station after two years. Catching up was hard at first and I wasn't sure if I was going to get back into things. I just felt so much distance to the characters after all this time but I wanted to see how things ended. To see what delights the author had waiting for us this time around and and how it would all be wrapped up.
The return of someone that Ciara thought was gone makes an appearance and sets of a trail of events that bring the series to it's conclusion. It seems like all the vampires and humans that were ever in this series come out for the last hurrah. I am sure there are many missing but the important ones were there. It was good to see how they were doing and it was sad to think that we won't know what happens to them unless the author does a spin-off series about them.
Lust for Life was action filled and told a story that was needed to be told. It tied up loose ends and ended nicely. Justice was done to all those involved and it was a pleasure to read another story about Ciara and Shane. I will miss the musical aspect of this series. It was so nice to have things tied into music. The chapters all named after songs and the references throughout the book really added more depth for me.
I hope Ciara and Shane live happily ever after. It was a fun ride while it lasted and I am sad to see the series come to an end but it is also nice that things won't be drawn out forever. The author gave the series a great send off and there are some amazing twists involved that I didn't see coming. A wonderful series and one I can highly recommend if you are a lover of music, vampires and Paranormal Urban Fantasy.
On a last note, Jeri Smith-Ready is an amazing author and I am lucky enough to have read all of her books. Don't miss out on her work because she tells wonderful stories and I can't wait to see what comes next from this super writer.
