The Monthly Giveaway

A few months ago I posted that I would be cutting back on events here on the blog.  It was very time consuming getting in touch with authors and planning events and just by myself and a full time job it was too much.  I do keep posting events for authors that contact me and some via Buy the Book Tours and I hope you enjoy them when they come along but other than that I have been trying to concentrate on doing more reading.

Which hasn't been happening much either ;)

Now, I am sorry to say, I have decided to stop the Monthly Giveaway.  I have had fun each month picking my five favorite reads and it has been really interesting to see which book you all voted for.  However the price of the winning book comes out of my pocket and despite having Amazon and Bookdepository links around the site I am not making any money from this blog.

Don't get me wrong.  I never intended this site to make me money.  However the small amount I did get went on contest prizes and there just isn't anything in the pot anymore.  Unfortunately and naturally the majority of the winning books are new releases and as time goes on it is getting too expensive for me to send copies or order via third party sites.  I could go the e-book way and offer only Kindle prizes but I have noticed that these prizes are not popular.

So I apologies to anyone who enjoyed the Monthly Giveaway.  I hope to at least do a 'Best of the Year' Giveaway around Christimas time but otherwise I will just keep posting my reviews, adding author guest spots and enjoying any comments made.  

Thank you to everyone who entered the Giveaways!  It was fun and I will miss them!
