167) Seven Swans a' Shooting by Kyra Davis

The Blurb :

This isn’t the first time amateur sleuth Sophie Katz has come face-to-face with a corpse—and now she’s in danger of becoming one herself.

With Christmas right around the corner, Sophie’s sister is organizing a Swan Lake flash mob for a tech mogul’s elaborate holiday marriage proposal. But when the prima ballerina turns up dead, Sophie and her sister become prime suspects in the murder, not to mention suspects in the theft of a massive diamond ring. Now Sophie has just twenty-four hours to find out who really killed the Swan Princess or risk losing her sister, her life...or maybe both.o find herself as the SFPD’s unofficial ghost consultant,” Mel must investigate murders both past and present before a spooky killer finishes another job.

My Thoughts :

Another book from the Twelve Days of Killer Fiction and from an author I haven't visited in a long time.  I have read a few stories in the Sophie Katz books but I have to admit I am a little behind in the grand scheme of things.  This short story definitely made me wonder why I haven't been catching up with this great series.  Mystery and mayhem follow this interesting character and her family and friends are just as much fun as she is.

This Christmas based tale is a great read and I can highly recommend you adding this to your reading list even if you don't already know the series.  This novella doesn't give much away and it is a great way to give it a try before you invest in the full length books.  A cozy mystery with a humourous leading lady this is a series I really need to dust off and catch up with.

A super read for Christmas and one you can read during the year.  If you like cozies then this is for you.  If you are looking for a quick read to boost your reading goals for this year then get this and enjoy.  A great mystery and a super read.
