40) The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire by Molly Harper

The Blurb :

Gigi is no longer an innocent teen. All grown up and looking for love, her family and friends worry she’ll go for the sexy, alluring vampire instead of a nice, safe human. But sexy and alluring, with a penchant for biting, could be just what Gigi wants...

My Thoughts :

Molly Harper has been delighting me with her books for years now.  She always manages to make me laugh and smile while offering up great fun characters, intriguing plots and paranormal fun!  The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire is another of these wonderful reads and yet again a visit to Half-Moon Hallow.

I had this book on pre-order on Audible because the narrator for Molly's books, Amanda Ronconi, is one of the best!  There are just certain series that I have to listen to and this is one of them.  Even if I was offered an ARC to read I am pretty certain I would have waited for the Audio version because they are just so well read.  Amanda always manages to make the characters sound as snarky, quirky and fun as you want them to be,  A series well worth listening to.

On to the story itself.  What is there to say?  If you have already been to Half-Moon Hallow before then you know what to expect.  There are vampires, werewolves and witches with some humans trying to keep alive.  There are fun and games, lots of pop culture references and of course something mysterious going on that will be solved by the end of the book.  Twists and turns are a definite and there is usually some vampire antics and romance.

So the same old?  Not really.  There is always something new in each book and that isn't just the new POV or the new vampire how-to book that is quoted at the start of each chapter.  There are always new situations with the addition of some new characters while incorporating the ones you already know and love.  The continuing story progresses and this time it isn't just Gigi who gets a life change bit Jane and Dick also get some new responsibility and Ophelia finally gets put in her place.

The plot was full of action and romance with some interesting mystery elements.  I was sure I knew who was up to no good right from the beginning and was right but the how and why was a fun roller coaster ride.  I enjoyed every minute and can't wait for another visit to Half-Moon Hallow which I see will be in Autumn!  Woohoo for not making us wait too long!  Looking forward to more!
