181) Lover Avenged by J.R.Ward

He has always tried to stay away from the Brotherhood but with them visiting his club and his sister marrying one it is hard for Rehvenge to keep off their radar. All he wants is to keep his secret but it looks like it will all come out into the open soon and there is nothing he can do about it.

Ehlena is a vampire who has managed to keep to herself. Her father ill, she works hard to keep him cared for and a roof over their heads. Rehvenge is a patient at the clinic where she works and something clicks between them. Ehlena needs Rehvenge and he needs Ehlena. Will he be able to admit the truth to her and will she be able to accept it?

I got this book fresh and new when it was released back in April. When I saw how big and heavy the book was I felt quite annoyed. Hardback books make for the worse books to carry around but this size is impossible. So my eagerness to read this straight away slowly dwindled as I needed to find time to read this at home.

So I started reading pieces here and there. Some chapters grabbed me while others bored me. I am a huge Brotherhood fan and have been following the series since it first came out but this has to be by far my least favourite. Sure I was interested in finally finding out more about Rehvenge's story and I really like Ehlena. However something, that I can't put my finger on, changed in this book and I didn't enjoy it very much.

It could be that the style seemed different this time. Perhaps the lack of Lessers fighting, which left the story with little action, made this installment bland? Or maybe it is because there are so many characters now involved that I am finding it hard to keep up with everyone? Whatever the reason this book was a disappointment.

On saying that I am still a fan and will be getting hold of the next book in the series as soon as it is released. Until then I have the first book in J.R.Wards new series here ready to be read. Covet looks good but I need a little break from the author before I can delve into her writing again.
