My Thoughts :
Nightshifted has been on my wishlist a long time but seeing as I couldn't get it via Kindle it was stuck on my paperback wishlist. Then my birthday came along and a nice person gave to me as a gift and I couldn't to read it. However as it is when one has a Kindle...well you seem to forget about those real printed on paper books. So it wasn't till now that I finally got around to reading this one.
It was a great concept. The blurb laid it all out for me anyway. Actually there were quite a few nice surprises tucked away inside Nightshifted. The main character Edie was a little weird though and she was hard to get used to and understand. Although it may not of been her fault. You see the writing style was slightly bumpy. Things seemed to jump along and not flow nicely.
Actually the overall plot was a bit of a let down and didn't come across as being well thought out. It came together in the end but it felt forced and not completely happy with itself. I have to say that there were moments when I wondered if I should continue till the end. Despite being exciting and unusually interesting there was something missing from the recipe and the story was struggling to stay together.
Nightshifted is certainly a good read. The content is fresh and original. Be prepared to plod through some boring bits and some unnecessary moments but know that you will enjoy the paranormal medical angle. It truly is something different. Well worth giving a try and I am glad I finally got to read Nightshifted. If and when I will read book two is yet to be seen but it will definitely get added to one of my wishlists.
