161) Murder on the House by Juliet Blackwell

The Blurb :

Since word has spread that contractor Mel Turner can communicate with the spirits of the dead, it's been difficult to maintain a low profile. She embraces her new reputation, however, for the chance to restore an historic house in San Francisco's Castro District. The new owners, who hope to run a haunted B&B, want Mel to encourage the ghosts that supposedly roam the halls to enhance the paranormal charm.

The catch: Mel has to spend one night in the house to win the project. But during the spine-chilling sleepover, the estate gains another spectral inhabitant—when someone doesn't survive the night. And as Mel tries to coax the resident spirits into revealing the identity of the killer, she risks becoming the next casualty of this dangerous renovation.

My Review :

A paranormal Cozy Mystery is just the thing for a lazy Sunday in bed. So it was no surprise that this new release was my read. After all I am a sucker for a good cozy with some supernatural spookiness and this series definitely has that. Actually I have to admit to liking the renovation aspect of this series as well. Plus the San Fransico location. This wouldn't usually be a winning point for me but the author really brings the place alive and adds some nice depth to the books with her knowledge of both subjects.

Murder on the House is the third Haunted Home Renovation Mystery and was a great addition to the series. The ghostly goings on in this one were quite scary and I was wondering if there were going to be some nasty ghosts involved. The story that unfolded turned out to be a little bit of an eye opener not only for myself but also for Mel. Her talent is certainly interesting.

Of course this series has a cast of amazing characters and they all put in an appearance in some way or another. It is nice to see Mel leaning towards a relationship and her talk of moving to France is slowly disappearing. I love how she still looks after her step son even though she really isn't obliged to anymore. Oh and I still wonder if there is more to her dog than the author is letting us know.

As this series continues I find myself loving this author more and more. Her work is always well thought out and well written. I always enjoy her stories and the mysteries she puts together. Entertaining and special this is a series I will be following till it comes to an end. A must read and a pre-order, I can't wait to see what happens next.
