100) Midnight Frost by Jennifer Estep

The Blurb :

Here we go again …

Just when it seems life at Mythos Academy can’t get any more dangerous, the Reapers of Chaos manage to prove me wrong. It was just a typical night at the Library of Antiquities — until a Reaper tried to poison me. The good news is I’m still alive and kicking. The bad news is the Reaper poisoned someone else instead.

As Nike’s Champion, everyone expects me to lead the charge against the Reapers, even though I’m still hurting over what happened with Spartan warrior Logan Quinn. I’ve got to get my hands on the antidote fast — otherwise, an innocent person will die. But the only known cure is hidden in some creepy ruins — and the Reapers are sure to be waiting for me there …

My Thoughts :

This series started off being very unique and special and it continues to be one of a kind and manages not to go over the top.  This is a very special attribute for me and it is refreshing to keep up with a YA series and really want to continue.  With no real teenage moaning and whining it is really easy to forget that this is actually aimed at Young Readers.  No sex and drugs in Mythos Academy, just some very amazing kids with some extremely different powers and abilities.  I want to go back to school if I can go here!

The plot this time around continues from the last book and it is a bit of a shock to see one of the regular characters come close to death.  The journey to find a way to save this character is an exciting and dangerous one and it isn't hard to forget what has happened in the previous books.

I don't think this was the best in the series so far but it was a very good and memorable one.  Some events are just hard to forget and certain scenes in this book will stay with me and will definitely be springing to mind  when the next installment comes along.

The Mythos Academy series has to be my favourite Young Adult series at the moment.  The author writes amazingly original content and it is infused to the hilt with some stunning Mythical Urban Fantasy.  This time around the author managed, to once again, out do herself and there was a creature involved that was a pleasure to see incorparated into in the story.

Jennifer Estep really stretches the limits and surprises everytime!  I don't like playing favourites but she really she high up on that list of mine!  Must read and must buy this is a series, like her Elemental Assasin books, that can't be praised enough.

Nice review Amber, I really like this series as well. And I don't read much YA.
