28) The Chapel Perilous by Kevin Hearne

The Blurb :

Ancient Druid Atticus O’Sullivan has had plenty of adventures during his long life, and in “The Chapel Perilous” he shares one of them with his apprentice, Granuaile. He lays out the true story of the quest for the Holy Grail, in which he was personally involved—and the events of which are quite different from the Christian tale most people know today.

My Thoughts :

This short story is #4.6 in the series but doesn't really have any impact on the series as a whole.  So this can be read at any point in the series and can even be read to get a feel for the series and, if you haven't had the pleasure of reading any of the books, see if you like the idea of it.

There isn't much to say about this one without giving away the whole thing.  As a novella it is of course too short for my liking but the story is a great one.  I especially like the Welsh angle and am once again amazed and in awe of the historical tidbits the author incorporates into this series.
Well worth reading if you are a fan of the series or not.  I hope the author continues to tell more of the stories  regarding to Atticus and his long life as a druid.  We only get to read a small amount of his adventures and I am sure there are many more to be told.  I will gladly read all of them!  This series, as I have said before, rocks!
