116) Much Ado About Magic by Shanna Swendson

The Blurb :

Katie Chandler is back in New York and at Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. – and just in time. The city’s in the grip of a magical crime wave from spells that wizarding whiz Owen Palmer thinks look awfully familiar, and the rogue firm Spellworks is raising its profile in the magical world by selling protective amulets. It’s Katie’s job as the new director of marketing for MSI to fight this battle of public perception while Owen and the other wizards try to uncover what’s really going on.

What Katie doesn’t realize is that her idea to stage a showcase for MSI’s magical achievements is playing right into a devious plot more than three decades in the making. Now Katie has to do damage control that has nothing to do with marketing. To save the magical world, she’ll have to prove who the real enemy is, and doing that will require digging deeper into Owen’s mysterious past than he wants anyone to go. If she fails, she not only stands to lose a magical war, but she could also lose the man she loves.

My Thoughts :

Anyone who knows and loved this series will be as surprised as I was to see this cover and realise there is a new book! Yes this isn't a re-release, a collection of the series or novella it is the fifth, all new and full length novel about Katie Chandler! Why is it such a surprise? Well I thought this series was over, done and gone forever!

Before I continue though I will most likely upset a few fans by revealing that Much Ado About Magic is only coming out in e-book format. I know a lot of people don't have or don't want an e-reader but if you are a real fan you will read this one via the Kindle app on your computer. It is worth it! The good magic filled Manhattan is back and it was even more fun for me this time around because I was just in the city the other week.

What can you expect from the fifth instalment? Well there are surprises in store for Katie when a friend from Texas turns up in NYC and crashes bang into the middle of a magic catastrophe. Owen has a bit of a shock in regards to his parentage and magic abilities. A move, a pay raise and better look at the magic council are also weaved into this very delightful read.

If you haven't tried this series yet then make sure you start off at the beginning. Katie has come a long way and so has the story and if you aren't up to date on what has happened so far then you will be quite lost if you start with book number five.

Sex in the City meets magic with some Mystery thrown in. This is a fun, action packed and magical series . It was one of my favourites and I was sad to see it go so the come back has certainly swept me off my feet. I am even more pleased to say that book sixth is apparently due out later this year! Yay! So Enchanted Inc goes back on my must read and must buy list. I hope it will find its way on to yours too!

I was so excited when I saw this was coming out, then totally bummed when I realized it was only an e-book. So totally bummed I e-mailed the author asking if there was a chance it'd be coming out in hard copy. She replied and said that she's working on getting it released through Amazon's Create Space, but it wouldn't be at the same time as the e-book. Fingers crossed!

Great review, and thanks for the heads up. It has been a while since I read those books!
