When Nicole Phillips agreed to hire a housekeeper, she pictured someone a little frumpy and almost certainly female. Instead, she gets gorgeous, unmistakably male Jake Colson. The man is proving indispensable in the kitchen—and everywhere else. Except Jake might not be a mortal man at all.
. . . and every night
Who wouldn't want to be a tall, dark, powerful vampire? Jake, for one. He's barely had time to adjust to his new state before he's roped into a family favor. Still, secretly playing bodyguard to sweet, sexy Nicole is turning out to be the wildest ride of his life. First he'll put a stop to whoever's targeting her. Then he'll prove that this kind of love, and luck, happens only once in an eternity.
My Thoughts :
Lynsay Sands never ceases to amaze me! Nineteen books into the Argeneau series and she is still going strong. You would think that the books would lose their appeal, become boring or repetitive but the author has a brilliant gift and always manages to bring something new to the series and keep things fresh. I admire the books and the author. This is a series I would hate to see end.
If you have ever read an Argeneau book then you will know what they are all about. Immortals that have nano technology inside them which have adapted to make them behave in a vampire way. It is a brilliant twist on the vampire and Atlantis myths and it has opened the way for a great set of stories. Each book is actually more or less has the same main plot. Guy and Girl meet. One is usually immortal and the other is their life mate. The twists and turns that finally get the two together is always special, different, fun and hot.
Guarnteed to be different each time, there is never one story like the other. Each one is unique and cleverly thought out with all the previous characters popping up here and there to keep things in the family. I always love seeing what the others are up to and like to speculate on which member will be the next on to get their own story. There are so many more possibilities but only because the author has so many great ideas.
As long as Lynsay keeps weaving these wonderful tales I remain One Lucky Reader! The passion, heat and romance drips from the pages but I keep coming back because of the great characters, stories and the general concept. Looking forward to book number twenty and hoping there will be twenty more after that. This is a must read, must buy and always pre-order series and a guilty pleasure that I will always love and treasure.
One Lucky Vampire is due out next week and any fan will be rushing out to buy a copy. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of reading an Argeneau story then go and pick one up. While there is some little details about the family that get mentioned along the way it doesn't spoil the series. So the books don't have to be read in order.
