123) The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires by Molly Harper

The Blurb :

Iris Scanlon, Half-Moon Hollow’s only daytime vampire concierge, knows more about the undead than she’d like. Running all their daylight errands—from letting in the plumber to picking up some chilled O neg—gives her a look at the not-so-glamorous side of vampire life. Her rules are strict; relationships with vamps are strictly business, not friendship—and certainly not anything else. But then she finds her newest client, Cal, poisoned on his kitchen floor, and only Iris can help.

Cal - who would be devastatingly sexy, if Iris allowed herself to think that way - offers Iris a hefty fee for hiding him at her place until he figures out who wants him permanently dead. Even though he’s imperious, unfriendly and doesn't seem to understand the difference between "employee" and "servant," Iris agrees, and finds herself breaking more and more of her own rules to help him - particularly those concerning nudity.

My Thoughts :

Even though the cover for this book didn't really impress me I knew without a doubt, due to experience, that this was going to be an amazing read. I wasn't wrong! Molly Harper always delivers a lively, funny and wonderful story and this one was just as good as her previous books.

Before I go any further, yes this book is set in Half Moon Hollow and yes Jane does make an appearance. Actually all the characters you know and love from Half Moon Hollow either make an appearance or are mentioned. It is great that the author has managed to make a new set of stories with other characters and still base it in Half Moon Hollow with the same rules and cools.

The plot is perfect and as always filled with humour and romance. The love aspect isn't over the top but it fits in nicely with the general story. Getting to know Iris, Cal and Gigi was a lot of fun and the dysfunctional aspect of it all made me giggle more than once. Actually I found myself laughing, smiling and chuckling quite a bit while reading this one which is also nothing new when it comes to Molly Harper's unique and witty writing style.

If you are a vampire lover and want to have a good laugh then you really need to check out this series and every other paranormal book of goodness that Molly Harper has shared. She is a must read for me and I can't wait for the next addition to the already wonderful selection of stories she has told. Highly recommended. A super Summer read!

You've sold me on Molly Harper! I'm going to try one of her books - even though they sound like romances. LOL
