71) Murder of a Sleeping Beauty by Denise Swanson

The Blurb :

When school psychologist Skye Denison investigates the death of a popular teenager who was cast as Sleeping Beauty in the school play, she uncovers some shocking revelations about prominent Scumble River citizens. And even ever-optimistic Skye knows that in this case, finding the killer won't end this tale happily-end-after...

My Thoughts :

This third book in the Scumble River Mysteries was just as good as the previous two.  This older series is simple but somewhat addictive and I am really enjoying the audio versions.

In this installment the murder takes place in Skye's workplace and it means, as the school psychologist, that she is really in the middle of things as she tries to make sure the students are ok and to find out what happened to Sleeping Beauty.

There are a lot of twists and turns involved in the solving of the mystery and the plot is quite interesting and entertaining.  The continuing problems Skye is having with the various men in her life is kind of funny and even if her mum isn't around much this time around when she does appear she certainly is amusing.

I like Skye even if she is a little annoying sometimes.  Her life isn't anything special and she is just a normal woman trying to get along in life.  Nothing over the top, no unrealistic angles and just normal everyday sleuthing without explosions and dramatics.

Looking forward to my next trip to Scumble River.  I am sure it will be very soon!  I have to play catch-up.  There are another 14 or so books in the series!
