Toni V. Sweeney Triple Feature Special!

Today I have a triple feature special. All three of the following novellas were written by Toni V. Sweeney. I hope the reviews will tempt you to check the stories out for yourselves!

Demon in Blue Jeans

Blurb -

When Katy asked the Devil for a "Bad Boy" all her own, she didn't expect him to grant her wish. Then an underachieving incubus named Zel appears on the scene and she's severely tempted...only problem is, Zel has an agenda all his own!

What did I think? -

This was a nice novella which I actually think would have made a nice novel size story. The tension was short and the romance quick but this was still a nice read and well written. How Katy and Zel meet made me giggle and the ending made me smile. This was a feel good tale that alot of people will enjoy but I would still prefer something a little longer.

Love, Vampire Style

Blurb -

Val Andriescu likes living la vida American so when he's ordered to find a nice vampire girl and settle down, he does what any rebellious young vamp would do--he runs away from home--and straight into the arms of the woman he's destined to love...only problem is--she's human! What's a vampire to do?

What did I think? -

This first book in the "Clan Andriescu" series was amusing and romantic. I kind of guessed how this one would twist and turn but it was still a pleasure to read. The author really has a talent for short stories and writes them well. Although I have to get past my love of a nice novel sized story I did like the change and found it refreshing to read something smaller that doesn't mess around but gets right to the point.

Sometimes Love Returns

Blurb -

40 years ago, Marius Andresciu met Caitlin DuBarry in Paris; in 2008, he meets her again and finds he still loves her, but can Caity--now in her 60's--accept the attentions of a man who appears to be half her age?

What did I think? -

Published in Sounds of the Night magazine back in February this story is the second entry in the "Clan Andriescu" series. This had a different feel to it than the previous two novellas and at first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. Then as the story moved on I was quite impressed and thought it was all quite romantic if not a little sad.

All in all each of these novellas were nice romantic paranormal reads. I liked the style and the simplicity of the short stories and would love to know what the Andriescu clan get up to next. If you are looking for something new or maybe just something quick to read then look no further. These stories the feelgood kind of ones you need to perk you up on your way to work.

Nice review, read a great adult romantic comedy, classes apart.

This is an adult sporting comedy that follows the fortunes of Paul Marriot, the secretary of the Barnstorm Village Sunday soccer team and coach of a school cricket team in Yorkshire, England. The story describes the remarkable camaraderie between the players and supporters of this little club and their desire to achieve success. Nonetheless, the team is known more for its antics off the field, rather than their performances on it.

During his time at the club he meets and becomes involved with Emma Potter, who is the sister of James Potter, a major player for their bitter rivals Moortown Inn. Thus, begins an entangled web of romance and conflict. He also begins working at Derry High School, a school with a poor reputation of academic success, where he becomes coach of the school cricket team. Here he develops an amazing relationship with the children and embarks on an epic journey.

Well, these sound like fun books to take outside in the shade and relax on a hot summer day!

I have read these three stories and agree with the reviews totally. The longing for a longer piece simply shows the author's talent in pulling us into her world. I particularly loved the poignant return of love.
