120) A Witch in Time by Madelyn Alt

The Blurb -

Stony Mill, Indiana's newest witch, Maggie O'Neill, has been attached at the hip to the smoking-hot Marcus Quinn. Things couldn't get any better- until her sister Mel gives birth to not one, but two babies...

Maggie's visiting Mel in the hospital when a whispered conversation in a cafeteria sends chills down her spine. She can't make out what they're saying, but Maggie knows malice when she hears it. The next night, death visits the hospital...twice. Nobody bats an eye, but Maggie knows something sinister is haunting the hospital. Now she'll need help if she's going to tie two murders to one killer.

My Thoughts -

Lots happened in this new installment and I am eager to find out what happens next. Not only did things change for Maggie but her sister also has a lot to deal with in this book. Things seem to be moving into place for something but I can't see what. I do hope that the next book has a bit more magic and ghosts though. This one was lacking in comparison to the previous books.

I love this series and can't believe that this was book number six! Time does fly when you are having fun and the Bewitching series certainly is fun. Murder and mystery all wrapped up in magic with a great leading lady and a hot guy to look after her. This series was good before but it seems to be getting better with each book and I am thoroughly enjoying this magical cozy mystery.

However I have to have a little moan. I love that this series has gone hardback and can only say congrats to the author. However for fans like myself it is a bit of a knock back after five paperback releases. Hardbacks are expensive enough but even more so if, like myself, you are not in the States. I put this on my wish list in April and waited. Finally I got this for my birthday and jumped for joy. I was so happy that I didn't have to wait till 2011 for the paperback version. I needed my Maggie fix.

I have also noticed that the next book in the series, also hardback, comes out after Christmas. So I guess I am in for another long wait until I can afford the next book in this series. Or I need book vouchers for Christmas. Either way I am a little annoyed about the sudden hardback cost and the long paperback version wait. Although I am happy for the author, I am sad that I can't afford to order this series as soon as it comes out anymore.

If you haven't tried this series then do so! This paranormal mystery is very refreshing and exactly what you need to take the edge off the deep dark Urban Fantasy ! If you are a fan and can afford the hardback, good for you! Go buy it! If you can't afford the hardback then I can only try and make you happy by telling you that there is only a few more months to go till the paperback comes out.

I can wait until it comes out in MPB next year. I'm not sure I am completely caught up with the series. It is a super one to read, makes for interesting dreams when I read one of them as a bedside book.

It's a vicious circle - you love an author, buy all their books, pimp them out to your friends....they get successful because theyre a good writer and then the publishers pay all the writers' loyal fans back by making it harder to buy their books. It's either shell out the money for the hardbacks are watch your favorite writers' sales drop (possibly losing their contracts) or waiting for the paperback to come out - sometimes for over a years! and then seeing spoilers of the books you've been waiting for. You want your authors to do good, but it always STABS your wallet in the back!

Man - I wish I could buy hardbacks for all the authors I read, but can't afford to.

I've read all her books. Love them. This last one was probably better than the last one. Lucky for me my mom buys them and gives them to me . You might also like Shirley Damsgaard's Ophelia and Abby series. Witch mysteries and Damsgaard has such a great writing ability.
