My Thoughts :

This is a series I love and listening to it has turned out to be even more fun than reading the books. Listening to the audio versions has been so much fun and I think I can actually say this has been one of my favourite audio book experiences so far. This fourth book about the Book loving vampire Jane Jameson is just as amazingly funny as the previous books. If you haven't tried this author or this series then you are in for a real treat because you don't have to wait between books to find out what mad-cap adventures/troubles Jane gets herself into.

I remembered a lot more about the storyline this time around because it isn't that long ago since I read the book. However it still held a few surprises for me. While I could clearly remember Jane making a newborn and the plot revolving around this and her upcoming marriage, I had totally forgot about the Grandma Ruthie angle and some of the 'someone is trying to kill me' plot. So I enjoyed revisiting this installment again.

Fun, paranormal and just hilarious, this series shows that vampire, human or werewolf, your family can can be as dysfunctional and crazy as the next persons. Molly Harper has a great writing style that makes you laugh, be sympathtic and roll your eyes all within a few sentences and while it all seems a little over the top you find yourself thinking back to your own family and friends and their similar antics.

This is a must read series by a must read author!

My Thoughts :

I love this series and listening to it is turning out to be even more fun than reading the books. I have been dying to go back to this series for a while and listening to the audio's seemed like the perfect way to do just that. This third book about the Book loving vampire Jane Jameson is just as brilliant and funny as the previous books. The narrator does a spectacular job and brings Nice Girls Don't Live Forever to life and will have you giggling and rolling your eyes.

If you haven't had the pleasure of reading this series then you are really missing out on something amazing. Harper has a humour that is hard not to like and laugh at and her characters are just like the family you always wanted. The vampire angle is fresh and different with some other paranormals thrown in to add to the fun.

This time around the plot was one I could only vaguely remember. Certain parts felt new to me but I read the book about three years ago so it isn't surprising that most of the story has been forgotten. Revisiting this third part in the series was wonderul and definitely an audio I will be listening to again. I am looking forward to starting the next book and listening to it on my way to and from work. The only thing I have to be careful of is laughing out loud on public transport while Jane's dysfunctional family and friends make themselves known :).

This is a must read series by a must read author!

26) Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men by Molly Harper

My Thoughts :

I read Nice Girls Don't Date Men a few years ago when it first came out. Since then I have read everything Molly Harper has written and every single book is a joy to read. So I am revisiting the Jane Jameson series via Audiobook and I have to say I am enjoying it just as much as when I read it. The narrator rocks the characters and style of the book and does it complete justice.

The only problem with this series is the amount you laugh and giggle. It isn't so bad at home in the comfort of your own home but I have got a few strange looks from people on the underground while listening to this book. You can't help but smile and grin at Jane's dysfunctional family and friends. Then there are the amazing things that come out of Jane's mouth. Always worth a laugh out loud moment.

If you haven't already tried this series or author then I can only seriously suggest you do. Not light and fluffy but more Besty (MaryJanice Davidson) when she was still worth reading, this is one of my favourite series and I can't wait to listen to book #3 sometime soon! Hopefully my audio credit day isn't too far away!

My Review :

Four years ago (almost to the day! A coincidence!!!) I took a chance on a new series and author. It paid off big time! I loved Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs and have enjoyed every book since then. I can't get enough of Jane and the Hollow and it is a series I have been hoping to revisit again from the beginning. So when this first part popped up on Audible in a sale I took it as a sign!

If you don't already know about this series then you have been seriously missing out. Funny, witty and extremely well written I can only praise it highly and hope that anyone who hasn't checked it out yet does so. I don't think there are any other authors who make me laugh and giggle as Molly Harper does. Not one for humour? Well there are vampires involved and that combination doesn't seem like it should fit together but with Jane Jameson it does.

The narrated audio of this book was brilliant. Well read and with the reader using lots of different voices to help distinguish the various characters. The narrator captured Jane perfectly and I loved every minute of the book. Although sometimes you have to be careful not to laugh out too loud while listening to this one on public transport!

Loved revisiting this series and so happy I did! It is amazing how much of a series you forget about, even if you loved it and have been following it since it began! I am going to be listening to part two next because I need a little something more fun and light to listen to and also I just can't wait to catch up with Jane again!

My Thoughts :

I have missed Jane Jameson and won't even upset myself by checking to see how long it has been since the last book in the series was released. This series has been one of my favourites and I was very excited that a new installment was coming out. I couldn't wait to see what the title really meant and loved the story immensely.

Despite getting a few new releases last week I couldn't wait to jump into this one and it was like getting back together with the gang for a reunion. Everyone was there and it felt perfect. The little problem of people killing each other or at least trying too, or the varied paranormal elements just felt, well, normal. The plot rocked and I could't put the book down for long. As always things were extremely hilarious and I found myself giggling in the tram while reading this to and from work.

Molly Harper has a humourous style to her writing that is sublte and welcoming. Not over the top or dirty it is just good clean fun. Monty Python must have been watched alot in the Jameson household because the fun and gags just keep coming. Yes this is funny but it is also a little romantic and mysterious. There is a serious side and the story is exciting. However what makes this series special is the paranormal bits and bobs. Oh and Jane herself.

What makes this book and the previous books stand out is the start of each chapter. Each one begins with a quote from a vampire book that has something to do with general plot pf the story. These little titbits and pearls of wisdom really make the story even better and adds depth. I love them and wish the author would bring out a books just with these items in it.

If you have already had the extreme laugh out loud joy of reading the previous books in the series then you would be boring and sad not to bother with this new episode. Never tried Molly Harper's books? Well you are missing a treat. Your favourite treat actually. Make sure you don't miss out on the deliciousness of it all! Looking forward to the next one!
